"Nelli's target is Yang," Yu said, pointing at Yang. "Which means you're our bait."

"Is this normal for Chaldea?" Yang asked.

"Let her do her thing," Helena sighed.

"Yang!" Yu's voice caused the caster to shake. "Pay attention! We need you to be the bait to lure her into the open."

"Why are we going after Nelli and not Philip?" Yang sighed.

"Because he's never far from Q'yth-Az, and we are NOT ready for that yet."

Mitra set a paper on the table. He had notes about Nelli and her fighting styles from Yu's recollection. They needed Yang and Van Gogh as the main team to fight her. The foreigner had a similar style, and the caster's alchemy was imperative to defeating her. The group agreed on the plan and scattered.

Yang leaned against the windowsill on the second floor. She held her judgment orb in her hand and glanced at the capital. Once Chaldea was done with the church, they aimed for the council next. Abhimanyu joined her and pointed at the light coming from the castle. That was the source of power for the barrier, and destroying it meant the people of Xiatian could see the world. Yang tilted her head at the thought. She had never been outside Xiatain before. She had heard stories from the town, but it was nothing compared to seeing the world herself. The idea was scary. However, Abhimanyu comforted her. He knew what it was like. He was in the same position she was in before he met Chaldea.

She leaned over the window when she heard fighting. The others were sparring with Van Gogh as their target. The foreigner painted on the dirt to create a barrier of vines that Nero shattered. Yu dashed for Van Gogh and cut another vine with her dagger, paralyzing it. Van Gogh kept a distance from her to avoid being cut and countered with a flurry of thorns. Cleopatra sneaked between them and coiled her snake machine around them to block the attack. Galatea was the last fighter to strike, creating a barricade of ice to trap Van Gogh and coming from above to catch the foreigner off guard. She hit Van Gogh's back with her rod and ended the battle.

Yang was impressed. She didn't get a chance to watch them when she was in the field. Chaldea worked well as a team, knowing one another's weaknesses and strengths to fight. Abhimanyu yelled out before sitting on the windowsill and jumping off. Van Gogh caught him with her vines, and he tapped his gun. He wanted a crack at fighting her.

The two stood opposite one another and waited for Carmen to raise a glass barrier around them. Once she did, Van Gogh created a wall of vines around herself and shot thorns around Abhimanyu. Careful not to hit him since he didn't have Cleopatra to shield him. He pointed his gun at the thorns and shot most of them out of the air. He was taking some lessons from Xuerui on shooting small moving targets, surprising the group. He jumped out of the way of the second wave of thorns and shot the few that got close to him. His goal was a red flower Van Gogh summoned, and he could barely see it through her vine barrier.

He pointed his gun at it and prepared. He took the shot, his gun glowing blue as the bullet pierced through the vines and hit the flower. Van Gogh sighed. She was on a losing streak with the others.

"You guys are busy today." Someone said from the sidelines.

"Sofitia..." Carmen sighed.

"I get it. The church and its system are too much for one group to handle. That's why... I think we all need to work together."

"What 'we' are you talking about?" Yu asked, shoving Carmen behind her.

"The Crypters and the Underworld have created an alliance and want Chaldea to help."

"What about your hatred for the Platted Knight?" Galatea wondered.

"Things were complicated, but I know who she is and what she wants." Sofitia held their breath before continuing. "The Platted Knight is Ophelia Phamrsolone."
