The sun peeked over the horizon, casting a warm glow through the windows of the Pokémon Center. Emma stirred first, her eyes fluttering open as she felt the familiar weight of Togepi nestled against her side with Molly and her female Pikachu curled up near her head. She glanced over at Ash, who was still snoring softly in the bunk next to hers, his own Pikachu mimicking his sleeping position.

Emma quietly slipped out of bed, careful not to wake the others. She padded over to the window, taking in the serene morning view of Goldenrod City. Today was the third and final day of the contest, and she had her last three battles ahead of her. A mix of excitement and nervousness fluttered in her stomach.

After getting ready, Emma stepped out to the balcony, stretching her arms up and inhaling the crisp morning air.

"Emma! You're up early!" Misty's voice called out from behind her. Emma turned to find her redhead friend yawning and rubbing her eyes, her hair slightly disheveled.

"I couldn't sleep anymore," Emma admitted with a smile.

Misty joined her at the railing, leaning against it as she peered out at the town. "Think you'll get to battle Serina?"

Emma shrugged. "Don't know, but to be honest, I hope so."

"I hope so, too," Misty said and smirked. "So, she can be pushed down from her high Ponyta."

Emma let out a chuckle. "She definitely thinks she's the best," she agreed, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Have you thought about competing on other contests after that?" Misty asked, smiling gently.

Emma smiled lightly. "Well... I--I won't lie, I do enjoy it. So do Sneasel and Houndour... maybe I'll get to do more of this soon."

"We can check for more," Misty said, smiling excitedly, she was glad and happy that Emma found something she liked to do. "Contests really suit you, I think you are great in this! Everyone does."

Emma felt a warmth spread through her at Misty's words. "Thanks, Misty." She rubbed the back of her head. "I will have a lot of catching up to do if I will be doing this, because Cara told me the Grand Festival is in three months."

"That's plenty of time to get ribbons," Misty assured. "Let's see how you feel after the contest and then decide if you want to continue it."

Emma smiled and nodded. "Yeah."

They spotted Ash, Brock and Molly had already woken up, along with the Pikachus and Togepi.

"Morning!" Ash's voice rang out cheerfully as he approached, his hair still tousled from sleep. He stretched his arms high above his head, causing Pikachu to mimic the action and yawn adorably.

"Morning!" Emma replied with a bright smile.

Molly bounded over to them, smiling excitedly. "Emma! Today you're gonna win the contest!"

Emma knelt down, chuckling along with Ash, Brock and Misty. "Well, I'm going to do my best to do that."

Molly's eyes sparkled with determination. "You'll be the best! Just like Ash!"

Emma felt a warm blush creep up her cheeks at the compliment as she ruffled Molly's hair affectionately. "Thanks, little one. But remember, it's not just about winning; it's about giving it your all and having fun."

"And Emma has all the talent to back that up," Brock said with a smile. "How about we'll get ready to head down to grab some breakfast? I'll make sure to make something for Sneasel and Houndour to eat between the three battles."

Emma nodded. "Thanks Brock."

After Ash, Brock and Molly got ready, the group went to the cafeteria. The cafeteria bustled with trainers and their Pokémon, the air filled with laughter, the clinking of plates, and the delightful aroma of food. Emma took a seat at a table near the window with Molly, allowing her to keep an eye on her friends as they lined up for breakfast.
