Chapter 4 - Poké Ball Peril

After the crash-land in Valencia Island, Emma and her friends headed to search for Professor Ivy's lab. "It's hot out here," Ash complained. "What are you talking about, Ash?" Misty asked with a frown, "The weather is perfect."

Ash looked at Emma, "Maybe we should take a little swim?" he asked hopefully. "We can have a little fun after we get that Poké ball," Emma said. Ash sighed, "Yeah. Fine."

"So, where is Professor Ivy's laboratory anyway?" Misty asked. Emma and the boys exchanged a look and spoke together, "Uh, don't you know where it is?" Emma rubbed the back of her head with a sigh.

"Pikachu-Pi!" the female Pikachu called to Emma as she pointed. The kids followed her gaze to see a building that looked like a Pokémon Center. "Looks like a Pokémon Center," Ash said and they walked toward it.

They walked inside the empty building. "Anybody here?" Misty asked. "Excuse me? Is there a Nurse Joy around here?" Emma called. Nurse Joy and her Chansey walked out of a room behind the counter. "Hello, welcome to the Pokémon Center," Nurse Joy greeted with a kind smile.

Brock ran forward and grabbed her hands, "It's a pleasure to meet you! Are you relative to any of the other Nurse Joys?" he asked. "I'm the second cousin of the sister-in-law of the Joy from Saffron City," Nurse Joy said, "Have you been at Saffron City?"

Brock nodded quickly, "Oh yes, it's beautiful like you are," he flirted. Misty stepped closer in annoyance and grabbed his ear, "Looks like Ash isn't the only one who needs to cool down," she said and pulled him away by the ear, making him groan in pain.

Ash and Emma stepped forward. "Can you tell us how to get to Professor Ivy's laboratory?" Ash asked. "Oh, it's very easy, you go straight out of the Pokémon Center, make the first left and it's the big white building at the end of the road," Nurse Joy explained. "Thanks Nurse Joy," Emma said and they walked out.

They soon enough found the building and walked in. "Professor Ivy!" Ash called. "Hello! Is anybody home?" Misty called. They looked around but no one was there. "No one's home," Emma said. "Place looks empty," Brock agreed. A door on the floor opened and three identical girls popped up, startling the Pikachu and the kids.

"Hey."

"What are you doing here?"

"Who are you?"

"Uh... hey, we came to see Professor Ivy," Emma said. "Yeah, Professor Oak and Alex Pierce sent us to pick up something," Ash said. The girls smiled.

"If you want the Professor."

"She's in the bay."

"Working with the Pokémon."

"We'll take you to her, right now," they said together. Emma and her friends looked weirded out but smiled a little. "Great," Emma said. The girls leaded them outside to the bay and they spotted a Gyarados emerging from the water, and the kids gasped. They saw a pretty young woman swimming next to it wearing a swimsuit and she petted it, "Great job, Gyarados." A Cloyster and a Poliwhirl popped up from the water and she looked at them with a soft smile, "You all getting stronger every single day!"

"Professor!"

"Four friends of Professor Oak and Alex Pierce are here!"

"To see ya!"

Professor Ivy looked over and smiled. Gyarados let her climb on it and it swam closer. Professor Ivy jumped down on the sand and grabbed a white coat to put it on, "Hello, its a pleasure to meet you. I'm Professor Ivy." Emma, Misty and Ash just stared up at her while Brock gaze her with red cheeks.

After getting dressed, Professor Ivy leaded the kids into the lab with her assistants and show the Poké ball that Emma's father and Professor Oak were talking about. This Poké ball was gold and it had a few letters on it. "Well, there's the Poké ball," she said.
