Chapter 70 - A Goldenrod Opportunity

Emma and her friends had reached to the end of the forest, and gasped in excitement when they stared at the view in front of them. "Look there!" Ash said, "It's Goldenrod City!"

"Pika-chu!" the male Pikachu said. "Let's go!" Emma said and they ran forward to toward the city. When they got in, they looked around the huge buildings. "This place is humongous," Ash said.

Misty gasped and rushed toward a jewelry store, smiling, "And so are the savings during the store's semi-annual super sale!" Emma sighed and looked at Ash as he spoke, "Hey, we gotta go."

"You mean we gotta introduce ourselves to some of those pretty city girls," Brock said as he stared at two pretty girls that walked past them. Emma raised an eyebrow, "You mean you gotta introduce yourself, right?"

Brock nodded while he continued to stare, "Right..." Emma rolled her eyes while her Pikachu sighed and Togepi blinked, "Togy."

"No, we gotta go," Ash said before he and Emma grabbed Brock and Misty and dragged them away. But then they got out of their grips and stepped closer to a burger stand. "Can you guess what I'm thinking about, Brock?" Misty asked.

"Yeah, and if you're thinking what I'm thinking... then we're both thinking about..." Brock trailed off before he and Misty spoke together, "A hamburger!"

Emma and Ash exchanged a look, and the girl shrugged. Ash looked at Brock and Misty, "We gotta go!" Brock and Misty turned to him, "Huh?"

"We didn't come here to shop, meet girls and eat burgers," Ash said. Misty smiled, "I know! Aren't we lucky?" Brock nodded, "Yeah, the burgers here look as delicious as the girls do." 

"Well, I came here to win a gym badge," Ash reminded them, and his Pikachu nodded, "Pika!" Ash turned and started to walk away, "Let's go, Emma." Emma looked at Brock and Misty, "Well?"

She turned and followed Ash without waiting for her friends to answer. "Wait for us!" Misty called. "Ash is right," Brock said, "Gym badges come before ladies and lunch." He and Misty ran after Emma and Ash.

They soon reached to the Goldenrod City gym, but the doors were closed, and there was a sign in the front. "Oh, no," Ash said before he read the sign, "'We're sorry, the Goldenrod Gym is closed until tomorrow'." His Pikachu sighed, "Pika."

"It's only a day away, Ash," Emma said. Misty smiled, "That means today we can go to all the big department stores!" Brock smiled, "And I can shop around for a Goldenrod City girlfriend." Ash shrugged, "I guess, I will head to the Pokémon Center and call Molly and my Mom before eating lunch." Emma smiled, "Hey, I'll call my family too."

Emma and her friends walked away from the building, and headed to the Pokémon Center.

Emma stood in front of the transfer machine and placed a Poké ball inside and it disappeared. She then turned to the phone booth and looked at her Dad, "Okay, Dad, I sent Scizor to you."

"I got him," Alex said and held the Poke ball, "We'll talk soon." Emma nodded, "Bye." Alex hung up and Emma walked closer to her friends on the other phone booth to see Delia and Molly.

"Emma, guess what?" Molly asked happily, "I can come!"

"That's great," Emma said with a smile. "We're at Goldenrod City, so if you want, we could wait for you here," Ash said. Molly smiled as she looked up at Delia, "Can we go? Pleaseeeeee."

Delia smiled, "All right, all right," she said. "Yay!" Molly said and moved out of the screen. "Hold it, we got to make you a backpack," Delia said and chuckled as she looked at the screen, "I'll go and help her, we'll see you soon."
