Chapter 14 - Murkrow, the Little Thieves

Emma and her friends were on an Island to relax. They were now at the Pokémon Center, talking to Alex at the phone booth. "Hey Dad, Mom said you're at the Pokémon Center," Emma said, "How are you?"

"Good, been pretty busy lately. Ash, have you won a badge yet?"

"Sure did," Ash said and showed him the two badges. "That's great," Alex said. "Hey Dad, how Scyther?" Emma asked. "He's doing great, he's been helping me a lot, but I can send him to you now if you want, I've got his Poké ball with me," Alex said. Emma grinned, "Yeah!" A moment passed and Scyther's Poké ball appeared.

After saying goodbye to Alex, the kids went out to the beach to have a picnic. "It's pretty weird not to have Hitmontop around now since I sent it home," Emma said. "I'm sure your brothers will be really surprised and proud to see it evolved to Hitmontop," Misty said. "Yeah," Emma said with a soft chuckle.

They all released their Pokémon to enjoy with them. "Hey Scyther! Welcome back," Emma said before frowning in confusion of a metal item Scyther was holding, "What's that?"

"Scyther," Scyther said and he suddenly glow, which surprised the trainers and all their Pokémon. "S--Scyther?" Emma asked. "What's happening?" Misty asked, "Is he..." The glow disappeared to reveal Scyther had indeed evolved.

Its a bipedal, insectoid Pokémon with a red, metallic exoskeleton. It has gray, retractable forewings and hind wings with simple, curved venation. Its head is kite-shaped with three blunt horns extending above its forehead, and dark yellow eyes. Its neck and part of its thorax give the appearance of being exposed: they show black skin and are surrounded by its raised exoskeleton. It has a large abdomen with three black, pointed stripes below the waist. It has broad shoulders and thin, segmented arms ending in large, round pincers. Its legs are defined by large hip joints, thin thighs, and wide calves, its feet ending in one clawed toe in front and another in the back.

"What is it?" Ash asked. Emma blinked, "I never meet a Pokémon like that," she said. "Scizor," her new evolved Pokémon said. "Scizor?" Ash repeated as Emma pulled out her Dexter.

No data.

"No data?" Emma asked. Togepi jumped up and down before walking closer to its brother, "Togy! Togy." Ash grinned, "Hey Emma, how about a battle? Me and one of my Pokémon against you and Scizor?"

"Yeah, and that way, you can see what new moves he got," Tracey said. Emma nodded and looked at Scizor, "What do you think?" Scizor nodded, "Scizor." Emma smiled as she looked back at Ash, "You on."

Scizor and Emma were facing Ash and the male Pikachu. "Pikachu, use Quick Attack!" Ash called. "Scizor, use Double Team!" Emma called. Pikachu ran at a fast speed and before he could hit Scizor, he created multiple copies of himself, which made the mouse Pokémon hit one of his copies.

Scizor's copies disappeared to reveal the real one in the left side, and his wings glow white. "What's that?" Misty asked. Tracey smiled, "Scizor is ready to use Steel Wing!"

Emma smiled, "Scizor, use Steel Wing!" she called. Scizor rushed toward the male Pikachu and hit him hard. Pikachu stood on his feet and Ash called out, "Use Thunderbolt!"

"Dodge!"

Pikachu used Thunderbolt and Scizor dodged the hit but he got it on the last attempt. "Pikachu now--" Ash started but was cut off when he heard Togepi. The kids turned to where it was supposed to be, which was next to the female Pikachu, but it wasn't there.

"Togepi?" Emma asked and they spotted it next to a bird Pokémon they didn't recognize next to their backpacks. "What's that?" Ash asked. "Pi-Pi-Pi," the female mouse said as she rushed closer and pulled the Egg Pokémon back.
