Chapter 24 - The Pokémon Water War

Emma and her friends had reached an Island called Ascorbia Island. "Have a rest for now, Lapras," Ash said and held the Poké ball, returning Lapras inside. Misty turned to the Island, "Looks like there's a lot of nice places to see."

"I sure hope so, and some nice places to eat too," Ash said as he rubbed his stomach. "Togy," Togepi agreed as it held its hands up. "Sounds like you not the only one who's hungry," Emma said.

"Togepry."

"Maybe we should go to see the art museum," Tracey said. "The first thing I want to see is a double cheeseburger and fries," Ash said with a grin. Tracey chuckled and Emma sighed in amusement while Misty rolled her eyes.

"Togy!" the Egg Pokémon cheered. "Pi-Pika-chu," the male Pikachu said while the female mouse smiled. Their smiles faded when they heard calls, and looked over to see people running off, calling out fire in a warehouse.

"Fire?" Misty asked. "Let's go!" Ash said and they all ran to follow the crowd. They saw that there was a warehouse on fire, and Officer Jenny and other officers were there, trying to get the crowd away.

"Look at those flames," Tracey said. "I can't just watch the whole warehouse burn down," Misty said and run forward. "Me too, here, hold Togepi," Emma said and handed Togepi to Tracey before running after Misty. "Maybe I can help too," Ash said and followed.

The trio ran past Officer Jenny, and she quickly looked over in surprise. Misty, Emma and Ash threw their Poké balls, releasing Staryu, Poliwrath and Squirtle.

"Water Gun!" the trio shouted, and the three Pokémon released water into the flames. "Keep going, Poliwrath!" Emma called. "Hung in there, Squirtle!" Ash called. "Keep it up, Staryu!" Misty called.

Emma reached to Gyarados's Poké ball, "We need more!" They heard sirens and looked over with the rest of the crowd to see a man appearing in a jeep with a group of Wartortle.

Tracey saw stands were starting to fall, and it was going to hit his friends, "Guys, look out!" The Egg Pokémon in Tracey's arms called out, "Togepry!"

Misty, Emma and Ash looked back at the warehouse, and before they and their Pokémon could get hurt, the Wartortle each grabbed them and pulled them out of the way. "Wartortle?" Emma asked as they looked at the one with a yellow bandana around its neck, who was staring down at Ash's Squirtle.

"Are you kids alright?" Emma, Misty and Ash looked up to see the same man who brought the Wartortle with him walking closer and looking at them. "Yeah," Emma answered. The man then turned to the warehouse and blowed on a whistle.

The Wartortle with the yellow bandana turned to its team, "Wartortle!" The Wartortle turned to the warehouse and all of them used Water Gun to douse the flames in a coordinated display. Tracey walked closer to his friends as they stood up. "Wow, what an amazing team work," he said.

"Togy," the Egg Pokémon agreed. The Pikachu smiled but Squirtle was not pleased and focused much of his attention on the lead Wartortle that wore the yellow bandana around its neck.

After the fire was put out, and the crowd all left, the man finally turned back to Emma and her friends. "You saved us back there, I don't know how to thank you," Ash said. The man smiled, "They are the ones who deserve all the thanks." They looked down at the Wartortle, and the Pokémon all saluted, "Wartortle."
