Chapter 26 - Pokémon Double Trouble

Emma and her friends finally arrived at Kumquat Island for Ash's fourth and final Orange Crew battle. "One more badge to win, Pikachu!" Ash said. The male Pikachu grinned, "Pika-Pika!"

Tracey was looking at a flyer, "This place is supposed to have great hotels, a beautiful beach, and natural hot springs," he said. Misty smirked, "Yeah. So even if Ash loses and acts like a baby..." She and Tracey spoke together, "At least we'll be in a nice place."

Ash looked at them in annoyance, "What do you mean 'if Ash loses'?! Just once, can't you guys have a little confidence in me like Emma does?!" Emma sighed and shook her head slightly. "Uh, sure, Ash," Tracey said as he rubbed the back of his head.

Misty smirked, "In fact, we have as little confidence in you as possible." Ash gave her a look, "Thanks, Misty." He looked at his male Pikachu, "Well, Pikachu, we'll just have to prove we're winners, then, won't we?"

Pikachu nodded, "Pikachu!" The kids started to walk away from the ship.

"Skip the rest, try the best, The Kumquat Hotel, for the sweetest deal in town! Come check it out and you'll check right in! Hurry! Hurry!"

"Then maybe we can stay in one of the Hotels for a day or two?" Emma asked, "What do you guys say?" Misty smiled, "Good idea, Em. Let's go." She looked from her to the boys, "We better hurry, guys, or else there won't be anymore rooms left." Ash frowned, "Hey, I'm here for a big match, not a vacation."

"Then you don't have to take one, Ash. I bet Misty, Emma and I can have enough vacation for the four of us," Tracey joked. Ash sulked and Emma sighed, "Trace..."

Tracey chuckled sheepishly, "I was only kidding. Come on, Ash, let's go down to the beach and get a hot dog and maybe go for a swim." Emma smiled as she grabbed Ash's arm, "Come on, how about we go for a swim first?"

She pulled him with her, Misty and Tracey to the stairs toward the beach. Once the kids walked on the sand, they heard a female voice calling out, "Davina!" They looked over to see a woman running straight toward them, "Davina, sweetie, it's mama-wama! Come to mama-wama!"

The kids were stunned silence and second the woman reached to them, she embraced Emma tightly as she lost grip of Togepi. Ash quickly caught the Egg Pokémon into his arms. "My baby girl is back with her mama!" the woman said, "My daughter! My pride, my joy, my heart, my soul, my life, my star, my world, my love! You're home!

Emma tried to get the woman to release her, "Excuse me, who are you?" She asked as she tried to pull herself away from her. "Davina! You don't even remember you're own mommy-wommy? Oh, my widdle pumpkin. Mama's here now," the woman said. Emma's voice was muffled, "Wait a second!"

"Ma'am, you're mistaking our friend with your daughter," Misty said. "Uh?" the woman asked as she finally pulled Emma away. Emma looked up at her, "I'm sorry, ma'am, but my name's Emma."

The woman looked surprised, "Oh my goodness! I could've sworn you were Davina." She let her go, "Oh, excuse me. It must be what they call wishful thinking."

Emma backed away slightly and let out a breath of relief. "Togy, Togy," Togepi said in Ash's arms, smiling. "Pika-Pika," the female mouse said as she jumped on her trainer's shoulder. "I guess your daughter must really look, just like Emma," Tracey said.

The woman smiled, "Yes, she does. And she even had her Pikachu with her when she left on her Pokémon journey." She then noticed the tail of the female mouse, "Now that I see this Pikachu, I see that my Davina's Pikachu is a male one. And not female." She looked at Emma, "I am very sorry, I must have completely startled you."

"Yeah," Emma said with a soft chuckle. "It sounds to me like the reason your daughter went away was because she wanted to become a Pokémon master," Misty said. The woman shook her head with a soft smile, "No, she went to become a Pokémon Coordinator."
