After getting over the shock that the man they befriended when they reached Azalea Town was Kurt, the man took the kids to his house were they were greeted by his granddaughter, Maisie. They were all now sitting on the couches to speak and have tea.
"Thanks a lot, you guys," Maisie said, "You really helped us out. We sure are lucky you came along. The whole town owes you for saving the well, but I'm just glad you saved grandpa."
"She's right," Kurt said, "I just wish there was someway to show you how grateful we are."
"We're just really glad we could help," Ash said with a smile. "Now, then," Kurt said, "Didn't you say you had something for me?"
"Actually, yeah," Ash said, "We're here on an errand for Professor Oak." Kurt looked surprised, "Really? Professor Oak sent you here himself?"
"Who's Professor Oak, grandpa?" Maisie asked. "Now, Maisie, I'm sure if you think back on all your lessons, you'll remember that Professor Oak is the greatest Pokémon researcher in the world," Kurt said.
"Oh," Maisie said and frowned a little, "But if Professor Oak is so great, what does he need them for?"
"He asked us to come because there's this Poké ball that even Professor Oak can't figure out," Brock said. "Yeah, so did my father Alex Pierce and even Professor Ivy couldn't," Emma said. Misty tapped on her shoulder and nodded to the side.
Emma now noticed Brock wasn't sitting by the redhead and now he was facing the glass doors to the garden, sulking. "That. Name."
"Oh come on!" Emma said with annoyed frown now, "You still not over her? Get it together man!"
"Is he alright?" Kurt asked. "He's... over reacting every time someone mention... her name," Ash said. "Anyway," Misty started, "We really don't know anything about it, but we've been calling it the GS Ball."
"The GS Ball," Kurt repeated. Ash pulled the GS Ball out from his backpack, "Here you go." He handed it to Kurt, who stared at it, "Why, this ball is..."
"I'm gonna explode if I have to wait another second," Brock said, surprising everyone when he sat back at his seat.
"You just gotta tells us any and everything you know," Misty said. "Come on, the suspense is killing us," Ash said, "We're begging you."
"Alright, it's clear that the ball is..." Kurt trailed off. "It's clear that the ball is...?" Emma, her friends and even Kurt's granddaughter repeated.
"Some kind of Poké ball," he said, making everyone stumble back. "Pika!" the female Pikachu pouted. "Next thing he tells us, is it's round," Ash muttered. "Or yellow," Emma muttered.
Kurt rubbed the back of his head, "I'm so sorry," he apologized with a small chuckle. "I really do hate to disappoint you children."
"Well, one thing's for certain, sir, is it can't be transported anywhere with a conventional Pokémon transporter system you'd find in a lab or a Pokémon Center," Emma explained. "I see," Kurt said with a nod and looked back at the GS Ball in his hand, "Well, once I've looked at it more closely I should be able to say more."
"Don't worry, you guys," Maisie said with a smile, "If anybody can figure this out, it's my grandpa." Emma and her friends smiled. "Thanks a lot for trying to help us out, Kurt," Ash said.
"While I will look into it, the four of you are welcome to spend the night here," Kurt said, "There's plenty of room for you all."
After the kids thanked Kurt and Maisie, and were showed the rooms they will spend the night at, Emma and Ash decided to call Professor Oak to let him know where they were now while the Pikachu were playing with Togepi. They called to his lab, and he answered.
