The Stadium was anxious to see which Pokémon survived the blast.
"The smoke still hasn't cleared from those two tremendous attacks, but in a moment, we'll see who the winner is!"
The smoke cleared to reveal Lapras and Gengar both got knocked out. "Lapras, Gengar, both are unable to battle!" the referee said, and both Pokémon black out from the scoreboard.
"What a shocker! Both Pokémon are out of this competition!"
"A draw," Emma said. Ash held Lapras' Poké ball, "Lapras, return!" Lapras went back to the Poke ball, and Ash smiled softly, "Lapras, you did great."
Drake returned his Gengar, "Gengar, return. Good work. You've earned a good rest."
"Well, Ash may not have won that round, but this is the first time a challenger has knocked out three of the champion's Pokémon in a row!"
"There will be a timeout for the field change!" the referee said.
"In the winner's trophy competition, whenever three of either trainer's Pokémon are defeated, the field is changed. Now, both these trainers will have to adapt and come up with brand new battle strategies."
Emma, Misty and Tracey sat down on the bench as Ash walked over. He sat down next to Emma and sighed, tired. "Togy, Togy!" the Egg Pokémon said happily.
"You're doing great," Emma said. "Yeah, let's hope his luck doesn't change," Misty said. Emma gave her a look before looking at Ash, "Since we know about Dragonite, Drake is definitely gonna use it at the last round."
"Question is, what he's gonna use now?" Tracey asked, and the kids looked to the new battlefield that was raising. "Remember he's only got three more left, you can still use five," Emma said.
Ash nodded and stood up before glancing down at Togepi in Emma's arms, "Wish me luck, Togepi." Togepi smiled happily, "Togy! Togepry!"
"The new field is moving into place, and the trainers are set for action! This time, the opponents will be dueling on a sandy, desert-like battleground."
Ash and Drake approached and the bell rang as Emma, Tracey and Misty stood.
"There's the bell to start the second half of this full six on six winner's trophy battle! Drake, the undefeated Orange League champion, has just three Pokémon left!"
Drake threw a Poké ball, "I choose you, Venusaur!" A male Venusaur was released.
"Drake has picked Venusaur, whose won many a battle here in the past."
Venusaur's too strong for Bulbasaur... Ash thought before he threw a Poké ball, "I choose you, Tauros!" Tauros was released, and he looked like he rest enough.
"And Tauros gets a second chance from the challenger. The Wild Bull Pokémon looks rested."
"Let's shake 'em up!" Ash said, "Fissure!" Tauros stamped the ground with his hooves.
"Once again, Tauros leads off with a frightening Fissure attack!"
However, Ash noticed something that threw off his game plan.
"But this time, the Fissure fizzled out! The sandy surface sucked up the shock and Ketchum's got himself one stunned steer!"
"Tauros' hooves sunk into the sand!" Emma said. "That leaves him a sitting duck!" Tracey said. "Venusaur, Solar Beam, now!" Drake said, and Venusaur charged the attack. "Hey, Ash!" Tracey called, "Maybe you can stop it while it's still absorbing energy!"
