3rd POV

A lot can change in twenty years.

Remnant, once a world full of strife, fear, and a dim future, had now blossomed into a new age, one of unity, anticipation, and hope. All across the planet, where the kingdoms would once rule from weak cities, civilized nations united beneath the new planet-wide civilian administration. Republic of Saunus, Commonwealth of New Australia, the Confederation of Anima, the Solitas Protectorate, and the autonomous alien nations on their new home of Kel, formerly the Dragon Continent, all March beneath the blue banner of the United Nations of Remnant.

Cities that were forced to remain behind a wall to defend themselves from the Grimm horde bustled and thrived as they grew larger and larger, growing as wide as they did tall. Buildings that just barely came up to the bottom half of the cloud layer, at most, we're now the minimum for most cities. A new skyline filled with skyscrapers and air traffic was all the norm for Remnant. From the alien city of Urlasio to the capital of the UNR in Vale, these cities thrived like never before.

Of course, with the dissolution of the UNSC's iron grip on politics and governance, the people had plenty of control over their own affairs now that they were no longer in a state of war and eradication. The Marine Corps had been largely reduced to a smaller contingent crew, the Army grew to support the needs for garrisons, the Air Force now stuck to patrolling the skylanes and low orbit, and the Navy had been mostly mothballed or decommissioned.

In particular, many of the Ship Servants that had served in the UNSC's Navy had retired from service, the last of the original Martian Defense Fleet leaving service fifteen years after the war ended. However, thanks to the preservation of the Ingens Assembly Vat located beneath Solitas, newer Ship Servants of newer ship classes were being steadily trained and educated in none other than the former Huntsmen Academies, with only the best and brightest being trained onboard Anvil Station above Vale.

However, those former warships that had once been defeated above Mars had all settled down with the loves of their lives. Be it in the urban sprawl of Vale, the windy city of Mistral, the sweltering heat of Vacuo, the icy temperatures of New Atlas, the bustling metropolis of Kuo Kuana, or the watery city of Urlasio, the Martian warships that had become heroes for Remnant had finally retired. Settling down with their loved ones, they would slowly integrate and assimilate into society with their partners beside them every step of the way.

As for perhaps the most crucial aspect of their lives, their children would all be able to experience the joys and wonders of a world not under threat of extinction and destruction. And just like their parents, they would all come together at the newly renamed Beacon University.

The morning light was as warm and as enticing as always when it began to faintly peer through one of the many dorms of the university. As faint as it was, it would be enough to cause a young lady to slowly stir from her slumber with a loud groan, burying her face into the pillow. Her dirty blonde kangaroo ears would droop in irritation and grumpiness as she slowly tried to fall back asleep.

However, the sound of her dear roommate's alarm from the other side of the wall would violently ring with a shrill beep, startling the poor girl.

"Oh my Oum!" The girl would loudly groan. She had long and curly dirty blonde hair that fell down to her lower back just above her similarly colored kangaroo tail that happened to drape over the edge of her bed. She would raise her face from the pillow, revealing her groggy dark brown eyes and a slightly tanned skin tone. Sitting up, she would very quickly slam a fist on the wall beside her, trying to get her roommate to shut off that annoying alarm. "Rosa! Turn that thing off, girl!"
