After the day of shopping for dresses and heels, and Melody's attempting to buy jewelry, but Michael had his own idea for a necklace. He told Jaycee this, so they wouldn't go jewelry shopping.
*Next Afternoon*
"Um, Dad?" She asked from the entrance of the hallway. "Yeah?" He sat up on the couch. She looked down and played with her band bracelets, "Could you um, dye my hair....black?" He looked at her with a dumbfound look, "You know I'm your dad right? I had my hair more colors than a rainbow. I was afraid of going bald before I was twenty." He laughed. "Of course, I'll dye your hair!" He added as he got up and led her to the bathroom.
"I think I have enough black leftover for your hair." He said and looked for it. "You've probably wanted to dye it when I was born, didn't you?" She questioned. "Actually when we were trying." He smirked. "Ew, ew, no, no, no! Don't tell me this!" She covered her ears. He laughed, "I didn't think about it when we were doing it. When we were sitting on the couch and talking about it." Michael said and grabbed the dye.
"So, do I know this Danny guy that's taking you?" She giggled and nodded, "A long time ago, but yes." He thought about it as he started the process. "Wait a minute, is this the Danny that asked me if it was for him to marry you way back in the day." She laughed as she sat down on the toilet lid. "Yes, the same Danny. I remember you never let us out of your sight when he came over." He shook his head, "I didn't want any fooling around."
"Dad, we were in grade school! We thought fooling around was playing on the playground without you knowing." She exclaimed.
"I remember when he moved away and you were so heart broken." He softly said, as if it would hurt her to remember."He was my 'husband' of course I was heart broken!" She put air quotes on husband. Michael chuckled, "Yes, and you barely left your room or my side. You always were happy with him. I remember when your pre-school teacher gave me a picture of you two sleeping on your Spider-man bear on the first day of school." Melody felt a little pink rise to her cheeks. "So many years later, here we are." He added. "Are you going to cry Dad? If you are, you're not being punk rock." She teased. Michael faked cried in a high pitch voice, "My baby girl is all grown up! I don't want her to." Melody sighed, "And why do you guys call yourselves punk rock again?"
"You were born into the 5SOSfam it's in your blood, stop questioning it!" He exclaimed."Melody, your mum would be so proud of you." He said, managing to change the subject. Melody scoffed, "For what? Being a loner and not talented at anything, especially at sports."
"For being yourself. Hell, look at me, I've been where you are. I sucked at sports and wasn't good at school. You're mom couldn't play sports either, but she didn't feel like herself around her friends, same with Ash until he found us. Let's face it, we never had a date to any prom or homecoming. So, I think you got the best of luck." He explained. She smiled and blushed, "Plus, you have an amazing voice. Better than all your cousins and uncles combined." He said. She gave him a confused look, "How do you-" "Don't think you're a church mouse when you're in the shower." He interrupted her. She bit her lip and looked down. "Don't get cocky, you're not better than me." He smirked as a smile etched on Melody's face.
He finished her dying, "When is this boy going to be here?" *I don't know how long it takes to dye hair, so just pretend it was as long as ut should be* She grabbed her phone and found the text, "About 5:30, so in an hour." She answered. "Alright, that might give me enough time to think of a threatening speech." He said and Melody started laughing like she watched the funniest movie. "What is so funny?" She trued to calm down. "Y-you trying to be th-threat-threating!" She said through her laughing. "I feel so supportive of you." He said. She calmed down, "Too funny, you have fun with that, Dad." She remarked and went to her room. "When you're done, let me know." He said, remembering why he didn't let her get any jewelry. "Okay Dad." She said as she got the make-up for tonight.
