Danny licked his lips again. He didn't know how this would end up. He looked down at the- Okay hold up, I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's go back in time some.

Danny bit his lip as he stood in Build a Bear Workshop. It had to be about a half an hour now. He tried to think of what Melody would want to have and cuddle with the most. Danny wouldn't get a sound because let's face it, the sound gets annoying. He had a Spider-man outfit in his hand, he knew that even if she wouldn't admit, Melody still loved watching Spider-man, especially the third one. He had eliminated the dog ones and whatever new movie or TV show ones. He looked at the army camo bear one that was in one hand then to the plain old white one that was in the other. Then the army camo one. "Pick the camo one." A female voice told him. It scared him. Danny jumped and almost tripped on his own two feet.

There beside him was Melody's cousin, Clare. "How d-did-" "You're Melody's boyfriend. She's my cousin. I know that she would want the camo over the white. Believe me." Clare told him. "I'm not actually her boyfriend, yet at least." Danny corrected her. "Well, whatever. Just don't screw it up for her. Melody has enough crap on her plate. Be the nice boyfriend and eat some of it for her." She stated. "I'll see you later." She waved before going back to her group of friends. Danny put the white one back and went to the stuffing station and had the lady stuffed the bear and sew up its back after she made Danny, at seventeen years old, do the heart thing.

He went over to the dressing station and dressed the bear in the Spider-man outfit and mask. "Hopefully we both don't get rejected little dude." Danny whispered before going to the cashier. He pulled out the money and handed to her as she handed over the build a bear house.

Danny walked around a bit more before seeing Calum and Luke. He took the box on his other side. He doubted that they would recognize him, it had been around six or seven years. Then again, he should have figured that since Clare can't drive yet. Danny, out of the corner of his eye, spotted Calum hit Luke's chest and point at the teen boy. Then, of course, Clare came by and confirmed that was Melody's boyfriend. The two tall and muscled adults walked over to him. Now, Danny wasn't six foot or the strongest kid around the block, so yeah it was intimidating.

"Danny, right?" Luke asked him, Danny quickly hid the box behind his legs. "Yeah." He answered. "Melody's boyfriend?" Calum questioned, his voice deeper than normal. "No, not officially yet." He replied. "If you hurt her, we'll do it to you, twice as hard." Calum stated. "I wouldn't think of such a thing." Danny truthfully told them. Both of the guys nodded at each other. Then Calum grabbed Danny's collar and pulled him close, so that way they had eye contact. "Don't you dare hurt her." He growled before letting him go. "See yeah around." Calum said before him and Luke walked off. Danny took a few deep breathes.

"I'm okay," he whispered then drove home with the plan in his head. He grabbed a maker and blue colored paper, writing down the very important question.

The next day he went to play practice with the box with the bear inside it. He knew Melody wasn't going to be there yet. He walked into the girl side of the dressing room. Okay now let's start where I began at-- Danny licked his lips. He didn't know how this would end up. He looked down at the cardboard house. There was the smiling face sign that had Melody's name on it. He walked in and put the box on the vanity, with the question facing the door.

Danny went to his dressing room and turned into his T-Bird self and sat on the stage. "Danny, just out of curiosity, what was that build a bear box about?" Mr. Jacobs asked him from the floor. "Surprise for Melody." He smiled. "Getting official?" The teacher asked. Danny nodded with a dorky smile. "Good luck." Mr. Jacobs replied and warmed up on the piano. They were close to perfecting the play, only two practices left.

The cast that was on the stage flinched as they heard a gym door slam. Melody had her head down and was briskly walking to the stage. "Melody, what happened?" Mr. Jacobs asked and stopped her. "My mother of a b--female dog came. I'm going to be upset like raining bricks." Melody answered. "Hey, just try to calm down a bit. I could give you pain meds if you need them." He said. Her hazel eyes lightened a bit. "Please!" She declared. He lightly chuckled and grabbed Advil from his bag and tossed it to her. Melody caught it and went to the water fountain and took two. She came back and set the bottle on the piano. "Thankfully they're normally short, so I might be done by showtime." Melody then knocked on the wooden piano. "Yes, let's hope. Three days until showtime." Mr. Jacobs remarked. "Okay. I'm now going to Rizzeled up. " Melody said and headed for her dressing room.

Danny's stomach had butterflies in it. Melody's orbs grew as she saw the build a bear house with a note on it. She took the note from the roof. "Will you be my Mary Jane to Peter Parker? -Danny." She read out loud and opened the box. Melody awed at the army camouflage bear dressed as Spider-man. "Hey little guy," she giggled and hugged it. About fifteen minutes later, Melody was in her black outfit with her Pink Ladies jacket with the bear in her arms and Danny stood up, biting his lip. She swaid her hips over to him. "You don't have to be my Spider-man. You're my Danny and that's the best superhero." She stated and she brought him down for a hard, needing kiss. There was a mild flash of a camera on a phone.

"Okay, now, you're Rizzel and hate Danny. Bring the bear over to me." Mr. Jacobs declared and the cast went through the show, Mr. Jacobs noticing some pain in Melody's face as they danced and climbed out of the fake window. But he let it be.

The girl had enough problems with her life. She didn't need to be yelled at for those things, especially when she can't help it. Her voice was still on spot along with her attitude. Melody let the lyrics gracefully twirl out of her mouth and let the words slash when she needed it.

At the end of practice, Melody quickly took the bear and hugged it before changing into her normal clothes, which this week was going to be sweatshirt and not so skinny jeans. The school was having teacher meetings and institutes for three days of that week, so the students only had Monday and Tuesday to go to school. Danny brought Melody home and gave her the option to going to his house, since no one was going to be bothering them and he could take care of her. She agreed.
