Before all of us go on tour, we decided to have a dinner with our new, little families. Unfortunately, Ashton picked the place so we have to. dress up because it's a really fancy restaurant.
I put Melody in a navy blue dress, "Daddy, I don't like dresses. Dresses ugly!" She exclaimed. "Hey, I have to wear a suit and tie. I don't want to, so we'll suffer together. Okay?" She shrugged, "Okay." She said and went to play with blocks.I sighed and went to change. Damn Ashton. "Daddy what are you doing?" Melody asked by the doorway. "Fixing my tie." I said and remembered the last time I put on a tie, was my wedding day. It's been five years.
No don't tear up, don't cry, no forget it, stop tearing up, stop tearing up. I put my head back to prevent the tears running down. I am not crying, no tears. No, stop being a pussy, Michael! I blinked a few times and the tears went away and I faced the mirror again.
"Why did you do that Daddy?" Melody asked. "I was frustrated with myself. I'm not anymore." I smiled and finished my tie. "Go get your black buckle shoes for me please and come back here." I told her. "Okay." She said and ran to the front door to get them. I sat on the bed with my hands in my head. "$h*+." I whispered at myself. "Daddy look!" My daughter exclaimed. I looked up and saw she put on her own shoes. I smiled at her. She was so proud of her little achievement. "Did you do that yourself?" She giggled and nodded. "No you didn't." I teased. She stomped her foot, "Yes I did!" She exclaimed and pouted. "Come here." I said kindly. Melody obeyed and crawled up to my lap. "You don't need to get mad, I was just teasing. You're just growing up too quickly for me." I said and kissed her temple. "I'm sorry." I said. She shook her head, "I sowwy. I no argue." I smiled, "I forgive you. Now can you please get me the black, smooth shoes in the closet?" She nodded and waddled over there and grabbed the right dress pair. "Thank you baby girl." I said and put on the shoes. "Do we have to go?" She sighed. I nodded, remembering why we had to be there, one of the last days we're all home and together before tour.I finally met up with the other guys, Ella and her and Ashton's son, Peter. I waved hi and say at the circle corner booth. "Hey guys." I said at the five of them. "Hi Michael, hi Melody." Ella said. Melody waved hi as we took a seat by Calum.
"Hey Michael, I think we need a booster seat." He said, mentioning to Melody can barely see above the table. "I'll wait until a waitress comes by us." I spoke before grabbing a menu. I knew what Melody already wanted from the menu, so I didn't even bother asking. "Excuse me," A waitress started, "Would you like a booster seat?" She asked. I nodded, "Thank you." She walked off to get it.
"Not that bad, what do you Michael?" Luke asked, talking about the waitress, and I glared at him. "Shut up or I'm leaving." I harshly said. "Guys come on, be nice to each other. Michael, you're sounding like she's still here and you cheated on her, but you never did. Luke, stop being stupid because you know he isn't ready still. He has a kid to take care of, it's enough to have on his plate." Ashton added. The waitress came back and I stood up with Melody in my arms. She put it where my child was sitting. "Thanks." I said and sat back down and put her in the booster. "Okay, I'm Alex and I'll be taking care of you tonight. What would we like to drink?" We went around with that before she left.
"How's being a dad Ashton?" I asked, referring to his 6 month son. "I'm exhausted." He breathed. "Coming from you, I get up most of the time!" Ella laughed. "I'm sorry. I'll get him each and every time he wakes up tonight." He said in a pleasing voice and they kissed. "Thank you." She smiled. "Hey, stay asleep tonight, Peter!" He teased his son. I shook my head, "Ash, try doing that every night and day." I laughed. He looked at me with wide eyes, "No thank you. I can't believe sometimes you did that at times." He spoke. "Yeah, get woken up at 4 in the morning, then have them sleep on your chest, and wake up the second time to them saying Daddy for the first time." I smiled at the memory. "I like the first step of making baby process." Calum chimed in while winking. We all laughed. "What's the first step to making a baby?" Melody asked. I turned to Calum, "Care to explain?" I asked. He nodded. "It starts out by a man and a women getting undre-" I covered her ears. "That's enough Cal. Unless you're going make it baby safe." I said. He sighed, "That's no fun." I uncovered her ears. "But I want to know!" She demanded. "You can learn in high school." I said and the waitress came with our drinks. "Do we know what we're all having to eat or do I have come back later?" She asked as Ash nodded. "It'll be all on me." He said. "Ash, let me pay fire me and Melody. You don't have to do that." I countered. "It's fine, you can pay for the tip." I glared at him. Then having us say what we want. "Okay, I'll be out with thirst in a while." She said and went. "Thanks Ash." All of us said.
The rest of the night was fun and full of laughs. The baby making process was done and didn't return. By the end, Melody had her head on my arm, almost asleep. "Well, I think we'll be heading out." I said and picked my sleeping daughter. I threw $15 dollars on the table for the tip. " Bye Mike, bye Melody." Everyone said. I nodded and went out to my car and gently buckled Melody in her seat before driving home. She was out, if a two trains crashed she would still be asleep.
