I waited until Melody fell asleep to pack. She knows I'm leaving soon, hence the fact she clung onto my leg every way I went. My God, help us when I leave later at time this week. It's midnight and I'm lying in bed, trying to fall asleep. I kept playing The Black Parade album over and over. I closed my eyes, not that it made a difference with the light. I turned to my side.
There was a dip in the bed and movement in the covers. I opened my eyes and turned to see Melody getting ready to cuddle me. "Melody, baby, what are you doing?" I asked, grumbled. "I couldn't sleep." She pouted. "Do you want to stay here tonight?" She nodded and cuddled into my back, trying to be the big spoon. "Here, let me turn around." I did and she cuddled into my chest. "Good night baby girl." I mumbled and closed my eyes. "Good night I love you Daddy." She said and closed her eyes. "I love you too." I said and both of us fell asleep. It hit me when I woke up. I needed someone watch Melody while I'm gone for the 3 months. I got out of bed, looking for people on my phone to look after my daughter with great care. "Jaycee." I said and remember how great she was...she's an old childhood friend. I pressed the call button and waited 3 rings until she answer. "Hey Michael, how you doing?"
"Um great. Well, I have a big question for you."
"What is it?"
"Uh, how do you feel about watching Melody for 3 months. I'm warning you now there'll be a lot of crying and Spider-man. She's 2 and she'll be shy at first because she's not used to women. But she's the sweetest girl, loves to cuddle." I explained.
"What time do you want me to be there?"
I was shocked, "Y-You'll do it? Oh my god thank you. Friday around 9 because I'm leaving at 10 for tour."
"Okay. I will be there. Should I come over and meet her, so she won't freak out about being alone with a stranger." I didn't even think about that. "Sure, why not." I said.
"Okay is it okay if I be there around 2 or 3?" She asked.
"Great. I'll tell more about her when you get here." I said.
"Okay, bye Mikey."
"Bye Jaycee." I hung up.There was a tug on my pant leg. "Daddy who you talk to?" My fuzzy head daughter asked. I picked her up with a grunt. "That will be your nanny." She looked at me confused. "You'll meet her later today, right after nap time." I said. "Why do I need nanny?" She asked. I kissed her nose, "Daddy will be away, not until Friday though." She looked at me with tears in her eyes. "Hey, hey shhh, I'm not leaving yet. I'm still here." She wrapped her small body around my chest and neck.
"Daddy no leave. Daddy stay forever. Never leave. Melody love Daddy, Daddy loves Melody too?" I felt terrible and I wasn't even leaving yet. "Daddy loves Melody with his whole heart forever. Daddy just has to go away for his job." She sniffed. "Hey, don't cry. I want happy Melody, not sad Melody." I wiped away some tears. "How about we play with Spidey and blocks? Will that make you happy?" She sniffed and nodded her head. "Good." I said and went to the blocks and built towers with her. "Daddy, I'm hungry." She confirmed. I got up and made a toster struddle. Of course my daughter clung onto my leg. "Melody, I think I can made you breakfast without you clinging to me." I said and she cuddled my leg. I sighed and put the frosting on it. I leaned over, "There you go." She grabbed it and took her time eating. Yup, she's upset. She always ate them quickly, unless she wasn't happy.
There was a knock at the front door. I got up from the blocks and walked to the door. I opened it up and saw my old friend with short blonde. "Hey Michael. Good to see after all this time. I haven't seen you since you got married." She smiled. "Good to see you too. Come on in." I let her in. She walked straight to Melody at her building blocks and Spidey. "Hi, I'm Jaycee. What's your name?" She spoke kindly. Melody looked at her with fear. She clung onto Spidey, not saying a single word. I walked over. "Melody say hi." She shook her head and hid her face in the bear. "Sorry, she's being stubborn." I apologized. "It's okay. She's shy, I understand." Melody peaked from her bear. "Did you build theses?" Jaycee asked. Melody stayed quiet, but nodded her head. "That's awesome. I wish I could do that!" She exclaimed. My daughter unhid herself and put Spidey in her lap as she faced us. "Do you like Spider-man?" She questioned. The same response was given. "I like him too." Melody looked at me for help. "Melody speak or you'll get the tickle monster!" She looked at me with wide eyes as if she'd forgotten that I was there. She bit her bottom lip softly and brought part of it in her mouth. "Don't be stubborn." She made a glare at me. "Okay, you leave me no choice." I took a hold of her and tickled her sides. "Dadddyyy sttoopp!" She giggled. "She speaks!" I said in amazement. She covered her mouth like she said a bad word. I chuckled. "Are you going to speak now?" She shrugged. "Do I have to put you in time out to speak?" I questioned sternly. "N-no. I speak." She stuttered, a bit scared. "What's your favorite toy?" Jaycee asked. "Spidey!" She pointed at the toy. She made a small smile. "Do you like to be read to?" Melody nodded and I poked her side. "Yes." She yelped. "What's your favorite food?" Melody thought. "Chicken nuggets and pizza." Jaycee smirked. "She's related to you alright." I nodded. "My baby girl." I blew raspberries on her cheeks. She laughed.Jaycee asked Melody more questions and questioned me about what time she eats and has a nap, etc.
Throughout the rest of the week, Melody never left me alone, unless I was using the bathroom or taking a shower. She's been getting better at talking to Jaycee without me telling her.
Today is the day... I'm leaving for tour. Melody hid somewhere. "Melody, Melody baby where are you?" I called. I listened for her crying and followed it to her closet. "Baby, what are you doing?" She whimpered with tears very close to escaping and maybe some already ran out and had her knees to her chest. "Melody, are you going to say goodbye and I love you you me?" She looked up and gave me a drawing. What I'm guessing is she was holding my hand and both of us were crying with the boys and a bus in the background with Ashton's son and wife with tears. "Daddy d-don't go on t-take away b-bus!" She bawled. I pulled her in a tight hug. "I have to baby girl. I don't want to, if I could I would stay here with you." She cried harder and gripped onto me for life. "STAYYY!!! DADDY NO LEAVE MELODY!! DADDY STAY FOREVER! I DON'T WANT DADDY TO LEAVE!!!!!" She sobs her broken heart in my shoulder, soaking my shirt. "Shh, shh, don't cry no more. Calm down. You'll get sick if you don't. Daddy doesn't want to leave either. I love you more than ever, but I love you more when you smile. Can you smile for me?" She shook her head. "Daddy no coming back? Daddy no see me anymore?" She cried. "Hey, I'll be back and you can even visit me and your uncles. I will call and Skype every time that I can. Okay." She didn't let go.
There was a few honks from the tour bus. Melody cried harder. I rubbed her back as I stood up and hushed her. I felt the tears threatening to escape my eyes. I took a shaky breath and grabbed my suitcases, heading for the front door. "Baby, Daddy has to go now." I softly, trying not to cry. "N-no. D-d-daddy st-stay! Melody die if Daddy doesn't stay!" I felt the tears run down my cheeks. "Shhh... don't cry. Give me the biggest Melody hug and kiss." I said, almost shaking. She wrapped her legs and arms around me tightly. I held her as tight as I could, I didn't want to leave my baby girl. This tour is going to be one of the worst for me, so far.
The door opened up to my band mates. "Michael come-" Ashton stopped at the sight of us. I blinked more tears out, "M-Melody give me a kissy before I go, please." She looked at me with nothing but tears racing down her round face and extreme sadness in her eyes and bottom lip quivering. "Melody, please calm down." I begged, even though I knew that she wasn't going to stop. I gave her a sweet and quick kiss. "Daddy loves you with all my heart. I'll be home before you know it." I said with tears escaping. She automatically clumg to me again. "I love you more Daddy." Melody sobbed, and with what seemed to be with all my strength to let her go. I kissed her forehead, "Be good baby girl." She tried to cling back onto me, but Ashton stopped her. Jaycee came behind her and took a hold of my only child. 'Go on' She mouthed and swayed and softly kissed the sobbing girl. "Bye Melody. Daddy loves you." I said before before leaving the house and hearing her yell 'NO' at the top of her little lungs.
I put away the suitcases before heading straight to my bunk, hanging up the drawing she just gave me and pictures of my little girl. From that it just went down hill fast. I couldn't handle it. I pulled the certain to hide me, indicating that I didn't want to talk or anything. I just needed to be alone for this.
