It was lunch time and Melody sat with her two only friends, Ryan and Vince. She was currently begging Vince for his garlic bread, since she knew he didn't like it and she gave him answers for English, not all of them, but like three. He finally gave up and handed it over. "Thank you Vince!" She brightly smiled and ate.

"I bet she'll be saying that after she gets his dick tonight." Sierra's voice came into earshot. "Isn't that right, Melody? Cause you're a fucking slut that loves to lift her legs in the air for any cock that comes by." Hannah Larson laughed into her ear. "Coming from you that slides down the pole and works at the corner naked, Hannah!" Ryan defended. "And you come by every day anyways." She smirked. "To through garbage at you, being the white trash you are, hell yeah I do." Ryan laughed. Hannah flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder before going to her table. "I got your back sis." Ryan smiled. The sis thing from Ryan started around the time after Danny moved away. No one in the group talked about him since, really. Cause they knew all of them would just couldn't handle that idea, so it went away.

She shyly smiled back at him and silently ate. "I can't believe that Ryan hangs out with that ugly, annoying, pathetic bitch!" She heard Grace exclaim. "Yeah, remember last year in speech, 'Th-the-they c-c-a-an g-g-go pl-places th-that' it's like how in the fucking world can't she talk correctly!" Hannah spoke loud enough on purpose.

The guys automatically saw Melody's shaking and little beads of sweat on her forehead. "Melody, don't listen to them." Vince spoke in a comforting voice. "I remember she was like a knat, she couldn't stop shaking for a damn second!" Another one of the girls exclaimed. "Melody, let's go to Mrs. Wilson's room." Ryan said and guided her out of the cafeteria to the room not that far away, Vince not far behind. She was on lunch monitoring and didn't care if students went in her room.

Vince pulled over a metal chair and Ryan let Melody sit on it. "Melody, I want you to copy my breathing." He made a deep breath in and out. "Just like we're making a tornado to blow them away. Let's go." He encouraged her. Melody took one, it was very shaky and not smooth at all. She clenched her eyes shut and was scraping her shoes together of not doing a good job. "Melody, don't do that. Let's make a tornado shaky or smooth." Ryan urged her. Melody let out another breath and continued to copy Ryan's breathing while Vince was telling her how she was doing a wonderful job.

Once her shoulders were relaxed and her breathing was normal, they stopped. "Melody, please tell me the truth. Did you tell your dad about this? It's the third time this week." Ryan gently questioned. Melody shook her head. He sighed in return. "Alright," he mentioned and hugged her. She shyly smiled into his chest. "We're here for you." Vince whispered and joined the hug. "Don't ever leave me." Melody whispered. "Melody Anastasia-" Ryan started. "Lyric Clifford!" Vince finished. She lightly laughed in between them. "Vince, I think I'm in a mood for a Melody sandwich. What about you?" Ryan smirked. "Completely," Vince smirked as well. "No!" Melody whined like a little kid. "One, two, three!" Vince counted down before they basically crushed Melody between them. They laughed as they did this before putting her down. She pouted and crossed her arms. "I hate Melody sandwich." She mumbled. "Did you hear that Vince? I thought I heard little Melody say she didn't like Melody sandwich. Is that right?" Ryan asked with evil thoughts running through his head. "I know I did." Vince remarked.

Ryan picked Melody up and set her on his hip before sitting in a chair. "Ms. Melody do you know what I do to naughty, naughty," Ryan poked her in her side as he made an impression of Santa, "little girls like you?" He questioned. She shook her head, but knew what was coming. "Swirly!" He exclaimed and dipped her head and had it rotate around in a circle for a minute. "Ryan Edward!" She exclaimed. "Say my middle name again, I dare you!" He remarked. "Ryan Edward, let me up," then brought her back up. "That's what happens to naughty girls. Will you be a naughty girl anytime soon?" Ryan asked. Melody shook her head. "Good girl, now go back to your Daddy Vince." Ryan laughed Melody obeyed. They messed around like that. No one really gets it. The guys made sure she felt safe and nothing different.

They knew how her home life was like shit, especially how her dad was always in tour. She had something wrong with her too. They knew, no one else did. Vince had been looking up things that related to Melody's symptoms. WebMD became his best friend for this issue. Melody didn't know this though. It was best that they didn't tell her. She would freak and go into denial.

"Melody, we're here for you, no matter what. Thick and thin. And we'll help you." Vince whispered into her ear. "It's fine, everything is good." Melody told him. The bell rang and Melody went off to band class, "Bye Ms. Musician!" Ryan exclaimed. Melody blushed, she didn't have a crush on Ryan. Oh hell no! For some reason, she easily blushed.

Melody grabbed her instrument, the violin. She became in love with the instrument since she laid eyes on it in fifth grade when their were experimenting with the instrument they wanted to play. She was delighted when she found out that she was going to play it. Melody remembers how she played Over the Rainbow to Clare and Michelle before her first band concert in sixth grade.

Melody read her Percy Jackson book as she waited for the second bell and the teacher to come into the room. She was almost tempted to play that song again, but didn't. Mr. Jacobs, the choir teacher came in the room and walked to Melody. "Hey, remember we're doing auditions the rest of this week after school." He reminded her. Melody nodded. "Good, I want to show how wonderful your voice is." He smiled before the bell rang and the other band kids came in and the teacher, so Mr. Jacobs left.

*Time Skip to end of the day*

"You're sure you want to go home by yourself?" Vince asked for about the fifth time. "Yes! Now go!" Melody exclaimed at them. Both him and Ryan had basketball practice after school and they normally went home with her. "Okay, call us if you need anything." Vince spoke then ran off to the gym.

"Idiots," Melody whispered and got on her bike. "Where are you going?" She heard Cole, the captain of the football team, yelled. Melody knew hearing him was never a good thing. "Huh little freak! Answer me!" He called. She froze. Melody heard the footsteps come closer to her and her muscles tensed.

"Freak," Cole dragged before she felt her face and body on the brick wall. "Too bad Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb aren't here to save you this time." He growled into her ear. Before he threw her onto the grass. He pinned her down and she admittedly starting to squirmed under him. Cole chuckled above her and punched her jaw before grabbing duck tape from his back pocket. "No one wants to hear your retarded st-stut-tering." He mocked her before putting the tape over her mouth.

Cole pulled out a pocket knife from his pocket. "I'll end what should've stopped a long time ago. Do you know what that is?" He asked. Melody didn't answer. "Your pathetic life!" Cole growled. "Get off of her!" Cole was pulled off of Melody. Vince brought her into his chest. He gently ripped off the tape. "Did he hurt you anywhere else?" He gently asked. Melody shook her head.

Melody and Vince watched Ryan punch Cole in the face for a few minutes before Vince spoke. "Do you want to go home now?" Melody nodded. They both grab their bikes. "Hey Ryan," Ryan looked up at them with a slightly bloody face. "Tie him up with the duck tape." Vince finished with a chuckled. "Great idea!" Ryan called and brought Cole's ankles together and taped them together repeatedly then his wrist the same. Ryan then taped them all together. To finish he put the tape in Cole's mouth and over his lips.

Ryan grabbed his bike and they went to their block that they all lived on for their whole lives. They stopped and parked in Melody's driveway, which was empty. "Are you going to tell him." Ryan asked, referring to Michael. She shook her head. Both of her friends expected that.

"Well, I guess I'll see you two tomorrow." Ryan awkwardly spoke before leaving. "I think I should be hitting the hay soon." Melody mumbled and headed to her front door. "Hey Melody," Vince stopped her and she turned to him. "Remember, no matter what everyone says, they're wrong. No matter what, don't let those words and shit into your head." Vince told her. "Thanks," Melody breathed. "Sweet dreams, Melody." He smiled before leaving too. "Good night, see you in the morning." Melody replied and went in the house, discovering her dad went to Ashton's. She brushed it off her shoulders and went to bed.
