Melody held onto Danny's hand as they walked into Applebee's. They were having an official date that took them out of their houses and away from the guys. They were shown to a table and soon got their drinks and food. Melody felt uneasy then glanced up from her food and saw two girls, around their late twenties, staring at her. Melody adjusted ger hair, so they didn't see her "ugly" face. "Hey, what's going on?" Danny asked and placed his hand on hers. "You shouldn't cover your beautiful face." With his other hand he attempted to brush her hair back. Melody stopped him, "They're staring," she whispered. Danny looked around and spotted the wide eyed pair of women. "I'll handle it." He whispered in a serious tone before getting out of his seat and headed to the pair. Melody only peaked at him.

"I'm sorry, but my girlfriend and I are trying to have a date and it's really annoying and angering that you can't keep your eyes from blinking at her when your eyes should be looking at your food and the person who you came with. Now stop staring at her, cause it's pissing me off! Didn'tyour parents tell you it was rude to stare at people." Danny firmly told him and walked away from the rude pair.

"I took care of it." He whispered in a smile and kissed her nose across the table. "Thank you." She smiled. "Now uncover your beautiful face." Danny remarked and tucked some of her hair back behind her ear. "I bet they're fans." She whispered. "Maybe, but they still don't have the right to do that." Danny said. "Yeah, I wish they all knew that. I don't go to LA for reasons." She stated. Danny grabbed her hand. "It's okay, MJ, we don't have to talk about them. I know you're sensitive about it." Danny whispered and kissed her again. She lightly nodded and shyly took bite of her food.

"Are you ready for the Voice Awards?" Melody shrugged, "Nervous, I've never performed in front of that many people before, let alone judges. I bet I'll be terrible." She frowned and scratched her neck. "No you won't. You'll be amazing like always. Believe me, you're beautiful everywhere. Both in and out, and I love those eyes when they light up. Just like they are now." Danny complemented her and she blushed with a shy smile. "You're so beautiful that beautiful is a weak word." He kissed her. "You're way too good for me. I'm not what you say I am. Danny, you speak too highly of me." Melody softly told him as she held his hand. "No, I don't. You just don't see it. Melody, you're a wonderful girl. I'm the luckiest man alive to have you." Danny smiled.

"Any dessert?" The waitress asked. Both of them denied. "Alright, I'll get these plates out of your way." She stated and grabbed the plates.

Danny held Melody's hand as he lead her to his car. "Thanks for taking me out tonight." Melody shyly said. "I can do it any time that you want. Anything to make my MJ happy." He smiled and kissed her forehead. Melody hugged him tightly and snuggled into his body. "Thank you so much bubby." She remarked.

Melody sighed as they got to the ditch of her house and pulled over, "Are you sure you don't want me to go in your driveway?" Danny asked. Melody nodded, "Dad will ask about who's car it is and such and I don't want him to know yet. He'll freak and probably put locks on my window." Melody explained. "He's been saying that since we were in preschool. I think we should stop hiding behind him about this." Danny told her.

"No, we can wait until prom. If he's going to meet you, again, we'll do it properly and you'll be dressed up anyways." Melody explained. He sighed. "Alright MJ." Danny gave in, not understanding what the big deal was. "Thank you. I just don't want to freak out one night to see you at our doorstep and accuse you of shit you didn't do and...just trust me on this. Dad's been protective of me since day one. He doesn't want to see me with a guy, especially after what we texted the other day. And if he saw that-" Danny kissed her lips hard. "Don't worry about it. I get it. I'll go along with whatever you think is proper. I'll be a complete gentleman and treat you as if you're a piece of heaven and your dad is God." Danny told her softly. "Thank you so much, Danny." She kissed him and opened the door. "Have sweet dreams, MJ." Danny smiled. "Goodnight bubby." She blew him a kiss and walked into the house. Danny smiled at her amd wondered how she doesn't see how perfect she is, especially when she smiles and laughs. "Beautiful, silly Melody Anastasia." He chuckled and drove home.

"Hey baby girl, how was Ryan's?" Michael asked. "Fun, really fun." She smiled. "Melody, it's great that you're getting out of the house and everything, but could you try to stay home more? I love seeing you and it's starting to get lonely here." Michael pouted down at her. "I mean all of your uncles are busy with their kids getting stuff for prom-" "I'm actually going to prom too." Melody spoke. Michael's eyes widened. "I thought you said prom was the most stupid and idiot thing." Michael spoke in shock. She shrugged. "I have a date too, kind of the reason why I'm going." She added. His eyes widen even more and spun her a circle. "I'm so proud of you, but no-" Michael waved his hand over her boobs and lower area, "none of this gets touched." He said. "Otherwise I'll kill him." Michael got serious. "I'll let Jaycee take you out dress shopping tomorrow. J-just don't get anything revealing. I don't want Ryan-" "Ew Dad, no not Ryan, God no." Melody cringed. "Sorry." Michael mumbled. "It's fine, and thanks for letting Jaycee take me." Melody smiled, relief running through her body as she knew her dad wasn't going. "I can go if-" "No it's fine. Just trust me." Melody breathed. Michael kissed her forehead, "I do, more than you think, now go to bed it's nearly ten." Michael gently spoke. "Goodnight Daddy," Melody whispered and scurried to her room.
