"Vince Thomason, Ryan Wade, Daniel Rab to Superintendent Mr. Andrew's office admittedly." The secretary announced on the intercom. Danny and Vince gave each other a confused look as they were in math class. "Danny, Vince, you're dismissed." The teacher said and the boys walked swiftly out of the class. "What did we do?" Danny asked as they got to the hallway. "Probably Ryan pulling a prank or spray painted something. We better not get in trouble, my mum will make sure I'll suffer." Vince spoke. Then Danny stopped and grabbed Vince's shoulder. "What if it's about Melody?" He asked with worry. Vince started practically running down the steps. They jmet the good humored ginger at the bottom of the stairway. "I didn't do anything...this time." He said admittedly. "Melody." Danny said and Ryan's eyes widened. "We gotta go." He took after he got the three words out. Neither of his friends seen Ryan so fast in their life. They admittedly ran after him to the office. "Walk boys!" The secretary scolded as they ran to Mr. Andrews's office.

"Sit boys." Mr. Andrews said as the three teenage boys came inside the small office. The principal was young, like recently out of college young. Ryan sat with a deep breath. Preparing himself for bad news. The other pair followed his pattern of emotions. "You three were friends of Melody Clifford, correct?" They nodded. "You must of had the news of her being in a coma then." They agreed. "Well, I have some news for you then." He calmly said, his brown eyes mixed of emotions, unsure of how to intro the news to them.

"She's awake. Mr. Clifford had sent the news and you're all able to see her this week. She is still in the hospital and is suffering from memory lost. Mr. Clifford said it will help a lot if you boys came and saw her, you know help her remember things." He explained. "Wait, so she didn't die?" Ryan had to ask. "No, she's alive, Mr. Wade." Mr. Andrews chuckled.

"Thank Jesus." He whispered.

*Time Skip*

Vince walked into his house and walked straight into his room and did his homework until his mother called him down for dinner. He wasn't surprised to see turkey and mashed potatoes on the table made for six, when it only holds four because they'd shorten it. Of course, his father is found at the head of the table. He took a seat to the left of his father. His mother was on the other head while his sister was across from Vince. His father offered him and his sister his hand. They took them and they did the same with their mother. "O Lord, we thank you for the gifts of your bounty which we enjoy at this table. As you have provided for us in the past, so may you sustain us throughout our lives. While we enjoy your gifts, may we never forget the needy and those in want." His father gave grace before they served themselves and ate.

"How was school today, Vince?" His dad asked. "Fine. I got some good news." He smiled. This caught his mother's attention. "What's that son?" His dad questioned. "Melody's awake." He remarked and smiled, his mother had a different face. "God must have a plan for her then." She barely spoke above a whisper. "Even if she doesn't believe." She muttered angrily. "Mary! We must not push the child away. She doesn't know any better." Vince's father, Adam, exclaimed. "I've offered her father to go to church multiple times." She defended. "Mary, calm down. God is giving her a second chance to live. We must accept it."

Vince now regretted bringing it up. "Could we please stop Melody's religious beliefs and be grateful she's alive, please!" Vince spoke strongly, bringing the table to silent. He huffed and spoke, "She's my friend. I'm going to see her this week. I want to see her. Melody lost some of her memory. I want to help her, because she's my friend, no other reason!" Vince stated. "No, you won't. She's a child that went against God. No child of mine will be seeing someone that went against Him." Mary announced. "I agree with your mother and I suggest you listen." Adam stated. "May I please be excused?" Vince asked. "Once when you finish your turkey and milk." Mary said. He automatically cut up the turkey quickly and scarfed it down before chugging his milk. "I'll be in my room, please don't bother me." He spoke as he stood and went to his room, slamming the door.

He huffed multiple times before laying in his bed. His room was still the cloud covered from it was his nursery. He hated it. "If I ever brought a girl to have sex with me and bring her in here, she laugh and leave." He said. He wanted to paint it and cover the stupid clouds since seventh grade. "Vince," it was his sister. "What Grace?" He grumbled. "Can I come in?" Vince groaned, "Sure Grace." He mentioned and she came in the room with her blonde hair in her braids. "I have some questions for you." She said. "Well, go ahead and give me it." He stated. "Why don't you like any girls besides Melody?" Grace asked, her voice almost too innocent sounding for being twelve going on thirteen. "Because other girls don't like me." He answered. "No, Willow from church likes you." She smiled. "Willow is too...Grace don't have homework snapped. "Nope. Why don't you like Willow? She's pretty and funny." Grace mentioned. "Because Willow doesn't want a guy like me. She wants one that can be more like Ryan." He replied. "That's not what she tells me." She stated. "Grace, what's your point here?" He sighed. "That you need a girlfriend. You're that odd wheel in your group.' Grace smiled. "So? Maybe I like being the odd wheel." Vince argued. "No you don't. I can tell, you don't like that Ryan has a girlfriend, especially since he can't come over as much." Grace denied. "Grace Maria Thompson, leave me alone! Please! I'm not enjoying this conversation." Vince declared. "Sorry, gosh, I didn't think you'd be like a crab." She snorted and left the room, closing the door.

He sighed in relief that she left. Vince never wanted to admit it, but he wanted to be with Ryan. Then there was times he felt attracted to girls, especially a girl named Jessie that was in a year below them. She was really smart, she was in his math and biology class. Jessie had beautiful curly blonde hair and bright meadow green eyes. His phone buzzed. He sighed and reached for it. Danny: If you want to, I can take you to see Melody with me when I go. He thought about it. No, I'm fine. I want to see her on my own. He replied. Okay, if you change your mind, let me know. Danny texted him. He didn't reply. He turned on his side and went to sleep.
