Tug Of Oblivion

Faunus POV

My eyes flutter open. The first thing I see is a massive swirling void of darkness. I close my eyes embracing the end.

Faunus: "I'm ready."

I feel something go over me. Opening my eyes I see the now planet sized Seed heading for the void.

Faunus: "No."

Shooting to my feet I run after the Seed. But I only get a step in before collapsing to the floor. I hold my head as that ringing feels like a drill going through my brain. Looking up the Seed gets closer to the void.

Faunus: "No!!!"

Fighting through the pain I get up, running to the Seed. I fire two web strands that attach to the Seed. I plant my feet and pull, stopping the Seed from going any further.

Faunus: "Got you."

*sorry for the overuse of this song.*

Slinging the webs over my shoulder and with all my strength I begin walking forwards. Slowly but surely I begin pulling the Seed away from the void. My hands cramp up but I ignore it. I go to take another step but feel the void pull harder. I get turned around and dragged.

Planting my feet I pull with every ounce of my strength. We now reach a stalemate. Tension mounts as I feel the full strength of the void trying to pull me in. I look at the Seed when a snap is heard. Looking at my webs I see them starting to snap due to the intense stress. I look up at the heavens and release a guttural scream.

3rd POV

As Faunus fights against annihilation itself his mind subconsciously plays voices from people throughout the years.

Glynda: "I care about you Faunus. A god awful lot."

Blake: "See you around Faunus."

Susan: "When I grow up I wanna be a hero just like you."

Susan: "Even if you can't a hero anymore. You'll always be my hero."

Ozpin: "You're destined for greatness my boy."

A glow comes from behind Faunus. He looks over his shoulder. Before him are the ghostly apparitions of Ozpin and Glynda.

Glynda: "Remember what you're fighting for."

A montage of his entire life journey plays. Through it he sees all the highs and lows in his life.

Glynda: "Remember who you're fighting for."

The last image his mind displays is his entire family smiling at him.

Glynda: "Remember."

Ghostly apparitions of his entire family and friends manifest. They all nod their head. Faunus nods back. Turning back to the Seed he narrows his eyes in determination. He lets go before firing fresh webs at the Seed. Slinging them over his shoulder he takes a step, pulling the Seed with him. Following is another step, then another, then another, then another.

Faunus' steps become more frequent. As he marches the ghostly apparitions chant his name, giving him more strength. His breathing becomes labored but he keeps marching. The Seed gets far enough away from the void to allow Faunus to start running. With a final shout of exertion Faunus launches the Seed away from the void.

Faunus: "I did it."

He drops to his knees. His breathing slows greatly as exhaustion takes over. He then smiles, closing his eyes.

Faunus: "I did it."

The Seed shines covering everything in light.
