Sacrifices

3rd POV

On Remnant 68 we see the heroes and Faunus' family staring in confusion.

Iron: "Weren't we just at the base?"

The look at Faunus' family.

Super: "What happened?"

Ruby: "I don't know."

A light shines down in front of them. Three orbs of light float down before morphing into a tall figure cloaked in robes.

Amica: "Creator."

Super: "What're you doing here?"

Creator: "Deus is dead. For good."

They cheer. But Noir walks up to him.

Noir: "Where's my dad?"

They cease their cheer.

Creator: "After Deus was killed he sent life careening towards oblivion. But your father fought to ensure it was not consumed by nothingness."

Blake: *joins them* "So where is he?"

There's a prolonged silence. This makes them become fearful.

Speed: "Creator, where's Faunus?"

Creator: "Faunus used everything in him to stop annihilation. The strain was too much for his body to handle."

They all begin tearing up.

Noir: "What're you saying?"

He holds out his hand. A brilliant flame then manifests in it.

Creator: "All that remains is his soul."

They gasp. Blake drops to the floor, clutching her heart. Noir looks up at Creator.

Noir: "No. It can't be over, not like this. You're all powerful, surely there must be something you can do."

Creator: "I could perhaps craft him a new body, but..."

Noir: "But what?"

Creator: "I would need to take a piece from him and all of you."

Noir: "That doesn't seem so bad."

Creator: "That piece would be what makes you all you. Once it's gone, you'll all be human."

Rider, Speed and Super step forward.

Rider: "Take a piece from us. Use it to bring back Faunus."

She looks at them.

Noir: "Are guys sure?"

Super: "He sacrificed his body for us. Least we could do is sacrifice a part of ourselves to help him get it back."

She looks at Creator.

Noir: "Do it."

Creator: "I need one more piece."

Noir: "Then take it from me."

Creator: "Very well. I hereby accept your sacrifices."

Rider, Super, Speed and Noir glow. That glow funnels into Creator's free hand. When the glowing fades he brings his hands together. A blinding light shines through his hands.

Creator: "Here me forces beyond me, give this hero life once more."

The light spews onto the ground. It then begins taking a shape. The light ceases revealing Faunus.

Faunus POV

I open my eyes letting out a loud gasp. Sitting up I feel my body. Feeling everything I sigh. But that's when I'm tackled into a hug by Blake and Noir.

Faunus: "Guys, still in a lot of pain."

They let go. Spotting Creator I stand up.

Faunus: "Thank you."

Creator: "No, thank you. You defeated the greatest threat to the multiverse. I owe you a great debt."

Faunus: "Don't worry about it. Just watch over us and we'll call it even."

He smiles.

*timeskip Noir POV*

I walk down the hallway knocking on the door.

Noir: "You okay in there?"

The door opens revealing Ozzy in dad's old vigilante outfit.

Noir: "You leaving already?"

Ozzy: "Yeah. Got an alert about a break in. And since it's summer figured might as well catch up on some crime."

He shows sadness.

Ozzy: "I just wish you and grandpa could fight alongside me."

I become slightly sad.

Noir: "Me too. But creator needed our gifts to bring him back."

I smile ruffling his hair.

Noir: "But we've taught you everything you need to know. It's time you made your own path as a hero."

He smiles.

Ozzy: "Save me a plate?"

Noir: "Always."

He leaps out of the window before swinging down the street. I smile.

Noir: "Go get 'em kid."
