A song for the chapter: ARE WE STILL FRIENDS? - Tyler, The Creator
"You should smile more. You look much prettier when you're not frowning."
Shut up, shut up, shut up, Elwia thought to herself, filled with loathing as she looked at Miles' face.
"You're right. Today is a big day for both of us." Elwia painted a smile on her face and kissed her boyfriend on the lips.
"If it's okay with you, I'd like to start getting ready with Astoria and Pansy. It's Astoria's 17th birthday today." Elwia said and started walking towards the dorm door.
Miles shrugged his shoulders while mumbling something incoherent, which Elwia took as a yes, so she left the dorm and made her way towards the girls' dormitory.
In her mind, Elwia kept thinking of ways to get revenge on Miles. However, it was actually rather hard, because Elwia wasn't sure whether she wanted to hurt Miles physically, like he had done with her. Did he deserve to feel pain? Definitely. Did Elwia have it in her to cause him serious physical pain? She wasn't sure. And it's not like she hadn't punched people before; she had done that multiple times, but it was much different. The thing that scared Elwia the most, was the fact that deep inside she felt that a simple punch in Miles' face was not going to do the trick; she wanted to hurt him so much worse. Elwia had such a thirst for revenge that it made her feel uneasy.
Today, Elwia was going to break up with Miles Bletchley, that was for sure, but probably only after the Valentine's Ball. Revenge was going to happen some other day, since she hadn't yet decided on how to do it.
The first thing Elwia saw in the hallway of the girls' dormitory was Flora sitting on the floor crying. Elwia had a gut feeling she knew the reason for Flora's sorrow.
With slow steps, Elwia approached Flora and said, "I heard what happened." The crying girl looked up and immediately rolled her eyes after recognising who the person in front of her was.
"Yeah, well, you're the reason for it." Flora hissed and squinted her eyes.
Elwia gulped and sat down next to Flora on the cold stone floor, and with a shaky breath, managed to mutter out, "I'm really sorry. I know how much it probably hurts."
"Yeah, yeah. Your sorry means nothing to me. You've ruined my special day completely." Flora rolled her eyes and dried her tears with her sleeve.
"I really am sorry that your mother died." Elwia sighed and glanced at Flora.
Flora's head immediately snapped to look at Elwia with a confused face. "What the fuck? I'm not crying because of that. My mother was an emotionally abusive cunt, and I'm glad she's dead."
Elwia's mouth dropped open, and her brows formed into a frown. "What are you talking about then? Why the hell are you crying?"
"Don't you dare act like you don't know, Eden. Draco left me because of you; he left me because you're constantly in his mind." Flora stood up, angrily pointing her finger in Elwia's face.
"Don't you fucking call me that." Elwia barked as she rose from the floor. "Draco and I haven't even talked to each other for a month. The reason he left you might be your atrocious personality, so don't even try to blame me." The red-haired girl sneered.
Flora went quiet, and with her back against the wall, she slumped back to the floor. "You're right. I will die my parents' daughter."
Elwia bit the inside of her cheek and crossed her hands. "So you're not sad your mum died?"
A small laugh came out of Flora's mouth that slightly echoed through the stone walls. "I hate her more than I despise you. I wish I had been the one to kill her." She said and glanced at Elwia to see her reaction.
