A song for the chapter: Motion Picture Soundtrack - Radiohead
End of November 1997
Months had passed, and the only visible proof of it was the boys' overgrown hair and stubble. Elwia's raven hair had also grown to her lower back, but she liked it that way and wanted to keep it long. Hermione then decided to give both boys a much-needed haircut.
It was Harry's turn to sit on the barber's chair, and after Hermione had taken a few snips of his hair, she suddenly uttered, "Oh, my God."
"What?" Harry looked panicked, touching the back of his head.
"Woah, she really gave you a bad bald spot." Elwia joked, reaching out her head to take a look at her brother.
"What?!" Harry almost shouted.
"No, it's not that. The sword of Gryffindor, it's goblin-made." Hermione answered, opening one of her books down on the table.
"Brilliant...?" Harry did a thumbs-up, not really understanding.
"No, you don't understand. Dirt and rust have no effect on the blade. It only takes in that which makes it stronger." Hermione explained, letting out a small laugh.
Harry, who still looked confused, said, "And what does that mean?"
"You've already destroyed one Horcrux, right? Tom Riddle's diary in the Chamber of Secrets. With a Basilisk fang. Don't you see? In the Chamber of Secrets, you stabbed the Basilisk with the sword of Gryffindor. Its blade has absorbed Basilisk venom." Hermione smiled excitedly.
"It only takes in that which makes it stronger." Harry stated, the light bulb inside his head finally turning on.
"Exactly, which is why..." Hermione said, but Harry finished her sentence, "It can destroy Horcruxes."
Hermione nodded with a grin, "That's why Dumbledore left it to you in his will."
"You are brilliant, Hermione. Truly." Harry beamed.
"It took you that long to realise that? We'd be dead without her." Elwia smirked, winking her eye at Hermione.
Hermione, slightly blushing from all the compliments, answered, "Actually, I'm highly logical, which allows me to look past extraneous details... and perceive clearly that which others overlook."
"The only thing left is finding that bloody sword. Luckily we have three Gryffindors here, so it shouldn't be too hard." Ron grinned confidently.
"And one Slytherin, eager to help!" Elwia added sarcastically.

Finding the sword of Gryffindor was no easy task for the four adolescents. It seemed it would only present itself in a moment of showing courage, and none of them really felt like placing their lives in danger only for the small chance of the sword possibly appearing.
"I've been thinking if we should go to Godric's Hollow. What if the sword is there?" Harry suggested, breaking the silence that had lingered in the tent for many hours.
"Although it's dangerous, I must admit that I've been thinking the same thing." Hermione sighed and closed her book.
"It's the best chance we have. Maybe doing something reckless will bring the sword to us, I dunno." Elwia shrugged her shoulders, drawing.
"Then we'll go there, right? Maybe in a few days or so." Ron asked.
"I was thinking that we could go in a few weeks when there'll be more snow. I think of Godric's Hollow as a last resort, so it's better to wait a bit more if the sword could appear before that." Hermione said, and Ron immediately nodded, "I agree."
