A song for the chapter: Feels Like We Only Go Backwards - Tame Impala

"I still can't believe you snogged with Draco. I never would have guessed you had a thing for him." Astoria laughed while filing her nails. Elwia sighed and glanced out the window at the scenery flashing by. For the last six hours on the train, all she'd heard about was her kiss with Draco.

"We were both very much drunk, and to be clear, it was Draco who kissed me, not the other way." Elwia rolled her eyes and crossed her hands.

"Oh, yeah, not taking into account the fact that you most definitely kissed him back." Pansy giggled and nudged Elwia lightly.

Elwia groaned and threw her head back. "Okay, I did not deny that. I did kiss him back, but only because it was New Year. It could have been anyone, honestly." The girl shrugged her shoulders.

"You're right, it could have been anyone. And somehow, it was Draco. I mean, that can't be a coincidence. It was fate that you kissed your enemy." Astoria clapped her hands with excitement.

"He's not my enemy; we only dislike each other. And it was Draco because he was the closest to me, and we were both drunk." Elwia defended herself, slightly kicking Astoria with her foot.

"Flora hates you, by the way." Pansy noted, painting her nails with black nail polish.

"Oh, really? I did not notice. But I must say that I don't really feel bad about what I did because they were not dating, and once again, Malfoy made the first move. He also told me he's only seeing her because both of their parents want them to marry and have pureblood babies or some shit like that." Elwia laughed sarcastically.

"Aww, would you like to make little blonde babies with Drakey-boo? And that those blonde babies would have your green eyes?" Pansy teased.

The raven-haired girl chuckled at Pansy's comment but could still feel a small sting in her heart. She knew that a family and children would never be part of her future, and it was all because of Voldemort. Elwia and Harry were Horcruxes, they were bound to die alongside each other, dying young just like their parents had.

Elwia would have to die for the greater good, and that was a sacrifice she was most willing to do. She knew that Harry would feel the same because he was the most selfless person she had ever met. Elwia hadn't told him about the Horcrux thing, and to be honest, she wasn't sure if she was ever going to. Would it be better for Harry to figure it out himself?

"I wonder what's pulling the carriages," Astoria sighed as the small carriage moved closer and closer to Hogwarts.

"I think it's moving by itself, the carriages are charmed or something." Elwia shrugged her shoulders and looked out of the window.

"Should we throw a party tonight?" Pansy asked with an excited grin.

"I don't really feel like it. Winter break ending is not really a good enough reason for me to party." Elwia sighed. She had been feeling low ever since she left Sirius, Remus, Fleur, and her mother at the 9¾ platform. She had been so happy at Grimmauld Place with her family, and saying goodbye to them had been difficult.

"Hmm, that's true. I just wanted an excuse to get drunk," Pansy laughed, which Elwia softly chuckled at.

"I hope the new Potions master is better than Snape. And by that, I mean that hopefully the new teacher won't hate me," Astoria grinned and rested her head against Elwia's shoulder.

"I heard Sirius and Remus talking about some man named Whorace. Oh, actually no. It definitely wasn't that, maybe Horace? I think he might be the new Potions master." Elwia laughed at her mistake.
