A song for the chapter: IFHY (feat. Pharrel) - Tyler, The Creator, Pharrel Williams
Elwia had stayed awake the whole night. It was safe to say that if she hadn't been overthinking before, she sure as hell was now. She had spent the whole night thinking about what on earth could Professor Lupin's words possibly mean, who was 'A star', why was she feeling like this, et cetera. Nothing out of the usual, she had been feeling like this her whole life.
Elwia had always felt as if something was missing; as if some other piece of her was gone and she would somehow have to find a way to retrieve it.
The sound of Astoria's yawning brought her back to reality. "Hey Wia, did you even go to sleep?" Tori asked, scratching her head.
"Yeah, I did. I just woke up a few minutes ago." Elwia lied.
"Mhm, sure." Astoria answered, probably not believing a word Elwia just said.
"I like your curly hair," Elwia smiled.
"Thanks, I'm still going to straighten it." Astoria mumbled with a small smile.
Breakfast this morning was unusually talkative, thanks to Elwia. She didn't even talk about anything important, just merely spoke of everything that came to mind. Elwia felt like she would explode if she kept quiet. The others didn't mind; they actually laughed and joined her conversation. Elwia could tell they were glad to have her back. She was lucky to have friends who cared about her.
"Can you shut up for one minute? Not all of us want to listen to your annoying voice." Malfoy scoffed. The whole friend group went silent, and were now looking at Elwia, waiting for her reaction.
Elwia turned to look at Malfoy with a face full of disbelief. "Excuse me?" For some reason, she only felt hurt, not even angry, at least not yet.
It almost looked like there was a flash of regret in Malfoy's face for a few seconds.
"You heard me," he repeated.
"You're a whiny cunt, Malfoy. It's rather ironic that you're trying to act all cold and mean now that I'm not in the hospital anymore. Seeing that you were basically sobbing every time you came to visit me and begged for my forgiveness. Being a two-faced liar is not a good look." Elwia said with a passive aggressive tone and flashed a smile.
Pansy and Astoria started laughing at Elwia's comment. Theo, Adrian, and Blaise were not as bold, so they tried their best to hide their laughs.
"Do us a favour and go back to Beauxbatons where you came from, I doubt anyone would miss you." Malfoy said, and everyone once again looked at him, shocked.
Elwia's lower lip started trembling and she simply gawked at his comment, feeling shocked that he would say that to her. She didn't know he hated her that much. What had she even done?
"Woah, you truly are a lowly piece of shite. Speak for yourself, Malfoy." Pansy scoffed.
"You've changed, and not for the better." Astoria mumbled.
"I think I'm going to leave, see you in class." Elwia said and left the table.
The raven haired girl stomped through the hallways, her face full of angry tears. That little ferret cunt—she hated him. She was going to make him pay for that. Elwia was truly trying her hardest to be the more mature person but she quickly realised that she sure as hell wasn't. If Malfoy wanted to act like a cunt who had a stick up their ass, she was going to be the one to stick it up there.
Under the big staircase, Elwia saw just the two perfect people for her revenge idea. Elwia walked up to the two tall ginger boys.
"Fred, George. I need your help. I want to murder Malfoy." Elwia said calmly.
"What? Are you okay? It looks like you've been crying." Fred asked in somewhat concerned manner, yet with a small smirk lingering on his lips.
It seemed like Fred was always smirking, no matter what was happening. Elwia wouldn't be surprised if Fred were to die with a smirk painted on his face.
"Wait, you just got out of the hospital wing and already want to murder Malfoy? What did he do?" George asked with a laugh, his brown eyes looking at the angry girl amusedly.
"He's being a cunt, nothing new, but I still want to teach him a lesson. I want Malfoy to explode, or to explode from anger. Either one is fine with me." Elwia stated and crossed her hands.
Fred and George looked at each other, their eyes full of mischief.
"So, there's this map we stole from Filch's office when we were in first year. We will need this map for the plan, but the only problem is that Harry's got it right now." Fred explained with a grin.
"A map? What kind of map? And I'm sure I can ask Harry for it. He'll give it to me." Elwia asked, intrigued.
"It's called the Marauders Map. It shows everyone's name on the map and gives you the exact location they're at. It's not a big part of the plan, but having it would be beneficial." George smirked.
"Woah, that's wicked. So how are we going to use it to humiliate Malfoy?" Elwia asked with excitement.
"Me and George actually planned this out months ago, we've just been waiting for the right moment. It seems like we have found it," said Fred mischievously.
"So here's the plan..."
The plan was going to be amazing; Elwia and the twins were going to pull it off after classes, since Elwia didn't want to miss out on any more school. She was a little late to potions, but she didn't mind. The girl was way too excited to care.
Elwia silently opened the door to the classroom and peeked inside. Luckily, everyone had already started making their potions. It seemed like Snape didn't give them a long speech at the beginning of the lesson like he usually did.
Elwia sneakily walked up to Harry; he was talking about something with Ron and Hermione.
"Psst, Harry. Can we talk? I need a small favour." Elwia whispered to Harry.
"Yeah, of course. What is it about?" He asked.
"Me and the twins are going to murder Malfoy!" Elwia smiled excitedly, "We will need to borrow the Marauder's map for it, though."
Hermione and Ron happily joined in the conversation after hearing what Elwia said.
"Yes, Harry will give it to you, won't you, Harry?" Hermione smirked and nudged Harry.
"It's about time that someone teaches that bloody ferret a lesson." Ron laughed.
"Yeah, about ferrets..." Elwia said and winked her left eye, giving away a little hint of what the prank was going to be about.
"Good luck with the prank; tell us the time and place, and we'll be there." Harry smiled and grabbed the map from his bag and handed it to Elwia.
"Thanks, I will." Elwia smirked and put the map in her bag.
Elwia walked up to her table and sat with Pansy and Astoria.
"I thought for a second you wouldn't come." Astoria said quietly while stirring her potion.
"I'm not going to let an asshole like Malfoy ruin my first full day back." Elwia answered with a smile.
"Good." Astoria smiled, nudging Elwia lightly.
"I hit him with a plate." Pansy told Elwia with a proud grin and patted her shoulder.
"Thank you, Pansy." Elwia laughed.
Elwia could feel Malfoy's eyes burning holes through her head, but for the sake of her and the twins' plan, Elwia didn't let it bother her.
While making the potion, the only thing Elwia could think of was Malfoy. The way she would humiliate him and make him regret the words he had said. Elwia wasn't surprised that Malfoy was being mean to her, she had already gotten used to that, but she still didn't understand why he even hated her that much. Malfoy was acting as if Elwia was his arch nemesis. If he truly wanted to act as if she was his great mortal enemy, then she would also show him exactly what it would feel like.
