A song for the chapter: Fade Into You - Mazzy Star

August 31st 2017

"Malfoy-Potter passes the quaffle to Weasley. It seems like the two know how to telepathically send messages to each other. The way they work together is truly fascinating. Weasley is nearing the posts. Will Harper be able to block her goal? And yes! Weasley scores an amazing goal, making the Holyhead Harpies lead Puddlemere United 40 to 30."

Elwia gave Ginny a high-five as they flew in the air, quickly following the quaffle as it flew back in the game.

"You rock, mum! Beat their bloody arses!"

"Dahlia, language."

"Sorry, dad..."

"On your right!" Elwia shouted to Ginny, who only barely missed the bludger heading towards her.

One of the chasers of Puddlemere United was flying towards the goalpost, about to raise her hand to score, but was soon taken by surprise when Elwia flew past her quicker than a flash of lightning, stealing the quaffle from her hand.

"Yes, Wia!" A faint familiar yell came from the stands that Elwia so often heard during her Quidditch matches.

"Malfoy-Potter is heading towards the goalpost, but Smyth is heading towards her from the side. Will she be able to knock her off the broom? OH! The most terrible sight!" The commentator shouted.

Elwia was hanging from her broom, one hand still on the quaffle and one holding onto the broom for her dear life.

"Get back on the fucking broom, Wia!"

Astoria?

"You heard me! Get back on the broom!"

Elwia could see her in the stands, cheering beside Pansy and Adrian. But it wasn't really her; it was only the faint memory of 16-year-old Astoria Greengrass. Still, she listened to Astoria's advice and got back on her broom, suddenly having found a new powerful feeling inside her.

"Now go score some goals for us, would ya! I love you, Wia!" Astoria grinned and blew a kiss.

Elwia smiled and began soaring in the air towards Puddlemere United's goalposts.

"Yes! Malfoy-Potter keeps going. Absolutely incredible! She raises her hand to score. Will she do it?"

Happy roars erupted from Holyhead Harpies fans' stands, and Elwia could hear her family and friends cheering for her, but one roar stood out amongst the rest.

Astoria Greengrass had once made a promise to attend every one of Elwia's Quidditch matches.

She kept it, even if she was just a ghost from the past.

"Did you see the way she and Aunt Ginny soared in the sky? It was bloody amazing!?" Dahlia still looked starstruck from the match that ended 3 hours ago.

"And the fact that they won 350 to 150? I can't wait to finally try out for Gryffindor's team this year. They didn't have any empty spots last year, but now I heard there are plenty of new ones because of the 7th years leaving." James smirked and kept talking about Quidditch with his cousin.

On every August 31st since some of the friends- and family's group's children had begun attending Hogwarts, they had taken up the tradition of having dinner and staying at the Malfoy-Potter manor, heading together to King's Cross station the next day.

The friends-and-family group included the Malfoy-Potters, the Potters, the Weasley-Grangers, the Zabinis, the Notts, the Weasleys (Fleur and Bill), the Patils (Flora and Padma), the Parkinson-Meadowes family, the Weasleys again (George and Angelina), the Lupins (Sirius had taken Remus's last name, leaving behind the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black), and Adrian Pucey—who was still by himself but perfectly content with it being that way.

It was one big group, but it also meant that none of the kids would be alone at Hogwarts and would always have a friend by their side.

Apolline Elwira Weasley was already 18, soon to be 19, and had just finished her last year at Hogwarts, where she had been sorted into Hufflepuff. Victoire Weasley would start her 6th year and was in Gryffindor.

Min-Seo and Theo had a daughter named Ha-Yun Celeste Nott, who was also in Gryffindor alongside Dahlia, James, Dominique Weasley (Fleur and Bill), and Felicia & Fred Weasley (George and Angelina). They were all about to start their third year at Hogwarts.

Harry and Ginny had a son named Albus Severus who was about to start his first year at Hogwarts with Scorpius and Selena Idril, Blaise and Luna's daughter.

Liliana was still only nine years old and wouldn't go to school for another two years, but when she did, Oscar Kwang Nott, Hugo Weasley, and Lily Luna Potter would be there to accompany her.

The younger ones of the group were Indira Lydia Patil, Nafula Darlene Parkinson-Meadowes, and Silas Mattheo Zabini. They were all just two years old. Indira and Nafula had both been born via sperm donation, carried by Padma and Irie respectively.

"Oh, who is your favourite teacher, Ha-Yun? It's Harry, right?" Elwia asked with a laugh as they sat at the dinner table.

Ha-Yun nodded but then whispered, "Harry is alright, but Professor Addams is my favourite." Elwia grinned and glanced at her brother, who looked only slightly offended.

"Oi, James. What position are you going to play?" Sirius called out.

"Dahlia and I are both going out for Chaser." James grinned, and Sirius proudly clapped his hands.

"You'll beat Slytherin's arse, won't you?" Sirius chuckled.

"Hey! He won't after Albus, Selena, and I join the Slytherin team." Scorpius ran up to Sirius and started tickling him.

"Oh, you're sure you'll go in Slytherin, are you? What if you go to Hufflepuff?" James pulled out his tongue.

"Hey! There's nothing wrong with Hufflepuff, young boys!" Polly jumped into the conversation.

Everyone laughed at the chaotic, loud atmosphere. The Malfoy-Potter residence was always filled with laughter; Elwia and Draco made sure of it.

They were all a proper family now.

After nightfall had come, everyone went to bed, smiles still resting on their faces and tummies full of food.

Elwia and Draco were putting Dahlia, Scorpius, and Liliana to bed. They all had their own rooms, but they always liked to sleep together the day before school began.

"Can you tell us a bedtime story?" Liliana yawned and kissed her bunny plushie.

A smirk crept on both of the parents' faces. The kids loved hearing bedtime stories, especially when they were all sleeping in the same room.

"The one with elves, wizards, and dwarves?" Draco raised an eyebrow, about to grab The Hobbit book from the shelf.

"No... A new one!" Scorpius suggested.

"Tell us a love story." Dahlia grinned and slightly blushed.

"Do you want to start it this time?" Elwia asked Draco, amused.

Draco nodded, and with a content smile, he sat down on the chair beside the children's beds.

"It all started when a girl and a boy hated each other's guts."

Elwia, Dahlia, and Liliana had already fallen asleep by the time the story was nearly over, and only Scorpius was still eagerly listening.

"They lost some friends along the way but gained new ones, and slowly, once they felt safe, they started their own family." Draco whispered and held his arm around Scorpius' shoulder.

Scorpius seemed a bit saddened at first, but then, with a hopeful glimmer in his eyes, he asked, "And what then?"

Draco turned his head to look at his sleeping wife and two daughters, and after that looked at Scorpius with a smile as he answered,

"And they lived happily ever after to the end of their days."
