A song for the chapter: we never dated - sombr
On April 30th, Friday, a month passed since Apolline Delacour's death. Elwia wanted to spend that day having fun with her friends because that's what her mother would've wanted her to do.
"King", Elwia said and put her card picture-side down on the table.
"Second", Blaise put down a card.
"Ace", Draco mumbled incoherently.
Elwia raised her eyebrow, suspicious of Malfoy's answer. She then flipped Malfoy's card the right side up, revealing a Jack of Hearts.
"How the fuck did you know?" Malfoy scoffed and grabbed the pile of cards, annoyed.
"Because I'm a master at Cheat." Elwia beamed victoriously, hiding behind the cards that were spread in her hands.
"She knows you were lying because she has all the aces." Adrian chuckled, lurking over Elwia's cards.
"Hey, keep your eyes on your own cards." Elwia laughed and hid her cards from sight.
After two hours of playing Cheat, Go Fish, and every possible card game there was, the Slytherin group were all hanging out in Draco's dorm.
"What will you guys be after you graduate? I feel so stressed because I honestly have nothing in mind." Pansy groaned.
"Well, maybe we could first hope we'll get this bloody war over with." Theo chuckled, but his smile fell almost immediately.
"I think you'd be a great journalist. You could become like Rita Skeeter. Just write all the juicy gossip there is on a piece of paper and publish it." Elwia suggested to Pansy.
"Ooh, I'd actually really like that. Irie wants to own a bookshop and become a publisher, so it would work great with her future plans." Pansy grinned.
"I'll start my own cosmetic brand, and I will call it Beauty by Greengrass or simply Greengrass. I haven't decided yet." Astoria dreamed, glanced at Adrian and then continued, "I also want to be a mother."
"You'll be an amazing mother, and Adrian will be an amazing father." Elwia smiled kindly, causing Adrian to slightly blush from excitement and Astoria to start giggling.
"I'd maybe like to work in the Ministry of Magic, maybe in the Department of Mysteries." Blaise shrugged his shoulders.
"I probably won't have to work since I'm drowning in wealth," Draco boasted.
"Show off, bloody Malfoys..." Theo laughed and rubbed his neck, then spoke, "If all goes well, I'd really want to work with magical creatures in the Ministry of Magic department."
"I never knew you were an animal lover, but hey, I guess I'll see you there in the future." Adrian smiled.
Elwia and Mattheo were the only two who hadn't yet revealed their future plans, often sharing swift glances at each other.
"I'll probably be a Death Eater for the rest of my life, following my father's orders like a soulless muppet." Mattheo huffed and brushed his fingers over his nose.
"Cheerful. Thanks Mattheo!" Draco sneered.
"What are you going to be?" Pansy suddenly asked, directing her question at Elwia.
Elwia gulped after seeing that everyone's eyes were on her now, Draco's intrigued gaze looming over her.
"A professional Quidditch player," Elwia answered after a few seconds of thinking.
It was the truth.
If Elwia had the time, then she would become a professional chaser for the French National Quidditch team or maybe for the Holyhead Harpies.
