A song for the chapter: Every Breath You Take - The Police
"Are you sure you didn't shag?"
"For the third time, no! We only snogged on the dance floor and stayed with you the rest of the night. And when we left, he walked me to my dorm and kissed me good night." Elwia explained, slowly beginning to feel annoyed at the constant interrogation.
"Sorry, just making sure." Astoria put her arms up in defence and stood up from the bed.
"It was literally two days ago; I don't understand why you're still asking about it." Elwia shrugged her shoulders but flashed a small smirk at Astoria and Pansy. "If we do something, I will tell the two of you first."
"You better," Pansy pointed a finger at Elwia before throwing herself on her bouncy bed.
Elwia laughed a little and sat in front of her table. She had some Charms and Potions homework due tomorrow, so she grabbed a quill, some ink, and parchment.
"It's weird that Snape hasn't been in any of the classes these past two weeks. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope he comes back tomorrow. Professor Binns is not good at being a substitute at Defence Against the Dark Arts. In fact, he's not a good professor at anything." Astoria sighed.
"I hope so too. I haven't learnt anything, and it's a shame because I really like it." Elwia added while writing words on the piece of parchment in front of her.
"Do you know what your boggart is?" Astoria suddenly asked, trying to change the subject since studying wasn't one of her interests at that moment.
"I don't think I've ever encountered one. But I believe that my biggest fear is losing my loved ones." Elwia answered and glanced at Astoria and Pansy.
"Have you lost a loved one before?" Pansy asked and tilted her head.
Elwia stayed quiet for a few seconds, her mind thinking about Lily and James Potter, her parents.
"Yes, I have." She nodded.
"I'm sorry, Elwia. I think my biggest fear is dying before getting to fulfil my dreams, for example, not getting to have a family of my own. When I die, I want to leave a piece of me behind on this earth." Astoria said wistfully, fiddling with her hair.
"I'm sure you and Adrian will get married and have beautiful babies." Elwia reassured.
"I really hope so." Astoria smiled.
Elwia finished her two essays just a few minutes before midnight. She felt happy with herself that she was able to maintain good grades even in the middle of all the bullshit she was going through.
It had been about a week since she had sent out a warning to Uncle Moony about the dreams she had seen of her mother. Elwia understood that Mitski flying to Uncle Moony and flying back to Hogwarts wasn't the quickest process, so it was understandable that it would take her a week or two to get an answer. But still, Elwia felt so anxious about whether Remus would believe her or not. She had seen in her dream that Uncle Moony wouldn't believe her warning, which made her really doubtful whether she could stop the future from happening or not.
She couldn't let her mother die. Those dreams had come to her for a reason; she had to change the future. Yes, changing the future could cause bad things to happen and alter everything, but there were times when you had to make selfish decisions for the sake of your own happiness.
Elwia thought about everything that happened in just the span of a month. She had found out Harry was her brother and her biological parents were dead, and a week after that, Mattheo told her that she was a seer and a horcrux, and on top of that, she and Harry would have to die in order to save the world. Then there were the dreams Elwia had seen of her mother, Apolline. The future wasn't exactly looking bright for her.
