A song for the chapter: Just for Now - Imogen Heap

"Is she going to wake up? It's been two days." A familiar boy's voice said.

"Mr. Malfoy, I've already told you multiple times that I am not certain how long it will take, since there was dark magic involved." Answered an older woman.

Was Malfoy worried about Elwia? The girl wanted to open her eyes and laugh at him, but for some reason she couldn't. What the hell was happening? She could hear everything everyone said, but she didn't have the power to respond.

"We miss you, Wia. I hope you'll be okay. It's been a week now, and there's been so much drama. Me and Pansy have so much to tell you when you wake up." Elwia heard Astoria say.

"Yeah, and some little girl from Ravenclaw is constantly asking us if you're okay. She's too scared to come visit you. Her name was Poppy, I think. I didn't know you had first-year friends." Pansy laughed.

With all her strength, Elwia tried to open her eyes and move her limbs to hug the two girls she had grown so fond of in a month. She couldn't.

"Why couldn't you just listen to my orders and follow me back to the castle? It's been a week and a half." Mattheo mumbled.

"It's boring without you. Malfoy is even more grumpy now that you're not here, which is weird since he literally hates you." Theo laughed but there was a hint of sadness in his tone. Elwia could hear Blaise and Adrian also say something, but it all sounded fuzzy. She couldn't really make out their words.

For Elwia it felt like such a long time laying there, unable to make it known that she had heard almost every word. There were times when her mind was in silent darkness. When she wasn't conscious, she was almost dead or at least that's what it felt like. Elwia appreciated every second when she could hear what was happening around her; it made her feel alive and gave her hope.

"Hey, Elwia. I've read probably every book in the library about cursed necklaces; I couldn't find anything to help you." Hermione said, sounding very apologetic.

"I gave you some chocolate frogs, but I was hungry, and I figured that I could take a few since you can't even eat them right now." Ron mumbled with a small laugh.

"I've been reading my mother's book. You're right, the book itself is very depressing, but my mother's annotations have made me feel closer to her." Harry said, his tone was sad.

Elwia felt awful, not being able to control her own body. She was screaming inside, cursing herself for being so foolish. She wanted to wake up so badly, because whatever her state had been then, felt like death. Elwia regretted with all her heart that she didn't simply just follow Mattheo. Her curiosity often took over her body.

And as the saying goes; curiosity killed the cat.

In a way it wasn't Elwia's fault, though. The moment she had set her eyes upon the necklace, it whispered enchantments to her in an ancient language; the necklace wanted Elwia to touch it. Its powers were unimaginably powerful, and it had obviously been chanted to make every person who bears their eyes upon it have the desire to feel it. It was very dark magic.

The twins also visited Elwia; they were telling her about their new prank idea. Elwia didn't mind, it felt relieving to hear something. The terrifying silence that she had to bear when she lost consciousness; to be, hear, and feel nothing. It was hard to explain it. Obviously, Elwia wasn't really awake during those moments where she heard her friends talking. But a part of her was aware; She was aware of not being able to do anything. She was nothing, just a small girl in the universe existing, but just being there in the darkness made her feel otherwise—she did not exist. In the darkness, there was no Elwia.
