A song for the chapter: Under Pressure - Queen, David Bowie

On the 10th of June, Pansy threw a huge party to honour both her and Draco's 17th birthday, even though Draco already had his birthday on the 5th of June.

In the afternoon, before the party, the group had spent their time in the girls' room, drinking and laughing and reminiscing about the times when they were underage. Well, Elwia couldn't really take part in that since she was still sixteen.

"Oh, and do you remember that time when you turned fourteen, and Marcus Flint gave all of us a Firewhiskey bottle? He was mad, for sure." Adrian snorted and slapped his hand against his knee.

"I still sometimes regret throwing them all away, but at least they made a cool Molotov cocktail. Shame about the Whomping Willow, though." Theo shook his head and laughed.

"Oh, I've been wondering what the huge burnt tree in the school grounds was. I'm honestly not surprised that it was your doing." Elwia chuckled.

"Hey, it wasn't just me." Theo threw his hands up and started pointing fingers at the boys. "Officer, every single man in this room was also present."

"Okay, well, glad to hear you two innocent girls weren't there." Elwia smirked and nudged Pansy and Tori.

"Even though the Whomping Willow was a total pain in the arse at times, I don't support burning down nature." Astoria squinted her eyes humorously.

"Trust me, Astoria. The world is a better place without that Merlin-forsaken tree." Blaise stated, taking a sip out of his drink.

"Oh, I almost forgot. Here's my gift for you, Pans. Happy birthday, love!" Elwia beamed as she handed her best friend a huge gift bag.

"Thank you, baby. You didn't have to." Pansy giggled excitedly and started opening the gift.

Elwia's grin grew wider when she saw Pansy's reaction to the gift, her heart warming as Pansy wrapped her hands around her.

"It's perfect; I love you." Pansy whispered.

In the gift bag, there was a framed moving picture of the three girls laughing uncontrollably, taken at the beginning of the school year. Pansy didn't know it yet, but Elwia had intended the photo as a goodbye gift, having written on the back of the picture, "I loved you two more than anything. You showed me how good life can be." The message wasn't exactly meant to be seen by Pansy or Astoria. Elwia just hoped it would act as a remedy for their sorrows if they ever happened to open the back of the frame and find the hidden message.

"Oh, and new Doc Martens? Seriously, Elwia. When did you even get these? They don't sell these at Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley." Pansy shrieked with joy, admiring her new shoes.

"Don't worry, I have my ways." Elwia smirked crookedly.

"Ooh, mysterious, much? What're you hiding?" Blaise laughed playfully.

The truth was, Elwia had sent out a letter with money in it to Sirius and Remus, begging them to buy her the Doc Martens platforms. After a day or two, Kreacher apparated into Elwia's room with the shoebox in hand. It was as simple as that.

"Well, it actually doesn't matter how she got them. I'm just extremely grateful that she somehow did. Thank you, Elwia. I can't wait to get absolutely pissed with you tonight. Same goes for all of you! Thank you!" Pansy grinned and threw her hands in the air.

"Mwah, love you too." Astoria smiled.

Draco and Elwia often shared looks, smoothly, quietly touching each other's hands at every given chance. They had thought it would be better not to tell the other boys about their official relationship, just in case, since it was a matter of both sides' safety. Obviously, the boys knew there had been something, but they weren't aware of the seriousness of the situation right then. That wasn't the case with the girls, though. Astoria and Pansy had been made aware of everything the minute Elwia had left Draco's room on the second of June.
