The two of you walked down the hallways of the temple, with eyes glaring over at the two of you. You couldn't blame them either. It wasn't like before, when they looked upon you as outcasts. No, now a linger of respect filled their eyes. You led the way up the temple stairs, till you reached the roof. The wind was harsher up here, in it's natural state. You looked back at Qimir.
Qimir following behind you stepped onto the rooftop of the Jedi Temple, the hum of the city fading into a distant murmur beneath him. The air was thinner up here, crisp despite the ever-present warmth of Coruscant's endless day. Before him, the skyline stretched in a sea of golden light, towers gleaming like sun-drenched spires piercing the clouds. The horizon was alive with the pulse of traffic, ships weaving between the skyscrapers like fireflies trapped in amber. For a moment, he simply stood there, the weight of the temple below him and the vastness of the world beyond. It was beautiful—overwhelmingly so. A place built on power and control, yet from here, it seemed almost... untouchable. Almost peaceful. He exhaled slowly, allowing the glow to wash over him, this was unlike anything he had ever dreamed of as a padawan.
He turned his head, his gaze settling on you, the golden light catching in his eyes like embers refusing to burn out. For a moment, he said nothing—just studied you, the way the wind teased at your hair, the way the glow of the city outlined your face in soft, flickering hues. He now understood how you didn't despise this planet. You had found places that reminded you of that wild nature. "It's different up here," he finally murmured, his voice quieter than usual, as if afraid to disturb the moment. You smiled, looking back at him. "Master Sol used to bring me up here," You shouted back over the wind as you walked towards the edge.
"He thought I foucused better with nature around me," You explained as you sat down, looking down at the city.
Qimir chuckled, as he walked up to you and sat down. Your feet dangling int he wind. The memory of your time on the island, flickering in his mind. Then, with a flicker of that ever-present amusement, the corner of his lips tugged up. "I do too think nature brings the best out of you" But even as he smirked, his eyes lingered, as if memorizing the way you looked bathed in Coruscant's golden light.
You leaned your head back, smiling, though you didn't allow yourself the laugh that threatened to escape. Still, there was something undeniably charming about how Qimir tried. A part of you wasn't sure when you'd next be able to afford laughter—visions from the Force had already shown you the darkness you were destined to face.
"Do you trust me?" you asked, turning to him.
Qimir hesitated. You knew he trusted you—loved you, even—but he sensed no humor in your voice. When you asked, it came from somewhere deep, a place with no room of uncertainties. You weren't just looking for an answer. You were searching for assurance.
His nod was subtle, but it was there.
"The holocrons... they speak to me all at once, like two foreign languages overlapping," you tried to explain, struggling to put into words the chaos inside your mind.
"They show me different times, different places—the future, the past..." You glanced at Qimir, searching his face for understanding.
"In some moments, it all makes sense. There's clarity, control. I can sift through them as if I'm standing in a vast library, choosing the knowledge I seek." Your voice grew quieter, almost reverent. "Like I'm the one in charge."
