My eyes snap open.
'what day is it...?'
I somehow get the feeling I've been sleeping for a while.
I glance around the sunlit room. At the black sheets, the familiar wall decorations...
'I'm home...'
I can't help the hot tears that well up only to die before they fall from my eyes. I didn't even know why I was crying. Cause it was all over? Cause I'd finally talk to someone again?
"Turtledove, you're awake..."
Ah. I really am home.
A warm hand rests on my forehead and I strain to look over at the figure that sat by my bedside.
"You're warmer than before but your temperature is still way too low." I had rarely heard such concern from Hawk's voice. "If you're up you should eat something, here..." he stands up and snakes a hand under my back. "Try to sit up."
He assists me as I try to push myself up. Its... easier than I expected.
"Good, now..." he turns his back to me for a second before he returns and places a tray of food in front of me. "Eat."
A smile rises to my face. "Breakfast in bed? You shouldn't have." I muse out in a shakier voice than usual. My throat hurt. Was it cause I-
Laughter breaks me from my thoughts.
I look up at Hawks, a strange expression on his face. "I'm glad your back Ryo."
"Yeah," I glance down at the poorly disguised bowl of KFC porridge that had clearly just been dumped out of its carton into a ceramic bowl. "I'm glad I'm back too."
As I ate, Hawks caught me up with everything that had happened thus far.
"I'm sorry dove, once they made their decision they wouldn't even let me leave the meeting room to speak with you." he grumbled. "Those old farts, like we'd do something as stupid as go against them."
'yeah... as if we could...'
Turns out, upon hearing of my past they were, understandably, irate. Yet, upon confirming my memory loss from old records of tests they'd ran back when I first arrived, they were surprisingly... lenient of it all.
Yeah... lenient.
"We managed to talk them down from execution and expulsion but they insisted on some 'attitude adjustment'" he muttered bitterly.
I tried not to think back on it, instead forcing myself to swallow another spoonful of the porridge.
"And... there's something else dove..."

"Where the hell is-"
"Where is he?" Todoroki muttered, beating Bakugou to the chase.
They had just gotten off the bus, now standing outside of Takoba National Stadium where they would take their provisional hero license exam. Yet most of 1-A had another thing on their minds.
"Don't worry Todoroki, I'm sure he'll show up any minute!" Yaoyorozu reassured although it is true, there was a certain unrest that had settled upon the class.
"I'm gonna make him spill everything when he gets here." Kaminari huffs.
Kirishima frowns. "I hope everything ended up alright," and those in earshot almost share a nod of sentiment.
"Alright class, now before we go in-"
"Hey teach! Where's Ryo?" Mina chirped up as most of the class seemed to suddenly be silently demanding an answer from the sleep-deprived tutor.
He glares at her silently for a moment. "Well if you'd have just let me speak..." he muttered before raising his eyes to behind the group of students.
They followed his gaze and turned around to see a familiar mop of white hair emerging from a black sedan.
"RYO!!!!!!!" Before he could fully turn around from having shut the car door, the poor boy is tackled from most every direction.
"WE MISSED YOUUUUU!!" Mina whined. "I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!" Kirishima's manly voice rang out. "WAAAAAAAHHHHHH" And that was Kaminari saying the smartest thing he's ever said.
Looking past the babbling mob, a few others gave their welcome too. Yaoyorozu gave a polite but heartfelt, "welcome back!" while Tokoyami simply gave a cool smile and nod. Jirou, tried to play it cool but couldn't hide the relief in her face as she simply patted Ryo on the back.
"Thanks guys," he chortled happily as the slobbering trio finally backed off him.
They moved away to reveal the final pair of people that had been awaiting his return.
"Hi icyhot, blasty," I blinked back the tears from my eyes. I'd never live it down if Katsuki saw.
"About time bu-" but before the blonde could finish, the duo-toned boy had me wrapped in his arms.
"Sho-" "I missed you..."
I wrapped my arms around his torso and laughed to hide my sobs. "I missed you too peppermint."
"Alright enough sappy shit," a gruff voice grumbled as a pair of hands split us apart. I found myself face to face with an overgrown pomeranian.
I snickered before reaching a hand up to ruffle his blonde hair.
"I missed you too boomboom."
He huffed and crossed his arms, "yeah, yeah..." he mumbled before muttering something even softer under his breath.
"Missed you too..."
I perked up upon his quiet, but not quiet enough, words.
"SO YOU DO LOVE ME?!?!??" I cheered and leapt onto his back. He cursed and tried to fling me off, with a few explosion sounds in the process.
"Yep," Jirou laughed, "he's back alright."
"I'll say!" Kirishima grinned. "I haven't seen Bakugou that spirited in ages!"
"Well Todoroki is smiling so hard I think his face might just cramp," Yaoyorozu chuckles richly.
The group seems to lag for a second before turning to her. "Smiling?" Sero quirks a brow at the boy's neutral expression. "THAT'S smiling??"
Yaoyorozu blinks as though it were obvious. "His face is practically alight!"
They turned back to the boy. "Well now that you mention it... he does somehow look like he's glowing..." Kirishima mumbles, the group somehow envisioning a golden sparkling aura around the ikemen's expressionless face.
