Expectedly, after just a few minutes, I see Tsuyu and Shinso running over.

What I did not expect was that all three of the rest of my team would be in their grasps.

'Oh for fucks sake...'

I creep over to the entrance of the base, holding a hand on the metal pipes and wait.

'almost... almost...'

And when both of them take one step into the area, I clamp the pipes down on them.

"Ryo!" Tsuyu gasps and I wave a hand.

"Miss me?"

I grin before wrapping them in more pipes.

"Nice job Ryo!" Kosei's voice sounds but not from behind me.

Shinso seems like he's real desperate right now.

"That won't work on me Einstein," I grin as I finish placing my restraints on them.

Then I tiptoe past them, giving Ibara a nice smack across the head.

"Hitting fellow man? How despicable, you ought to be whipped," she preached and I didn't know whether to be more or less relieved that she was no longer under Shinso's spell.

With her help, we threw the two remaining members into our capture cell and the whistle blew.

'Finally...'

I let out a large breath and flop onto the floor.

"Danggit, we almost had it too!" Denki whined as we finally let him out of the cell.

"Sure, sure," I waved him off, "like you did anything."

"HEY!"

And our bickering carried on until we reached the main assembly area once more.

Along the way, we ran into the 1-B group I'd been with and they were pretty thankful.

Jurota, back in his 'human' form was laughing heartily and shaking my hand with thanks. Kosei seemed apologetic for getting caught so early but his quirk had been pivotal early in the battle so I told him not to worry about it.

Even Ibara gave me a small thanks, mixed in with a bunch of spiritual mumbo jumbo of course.

'Hmm, guess I have some allies in 1-B now!'

As we reached the base of the viewing area, I spot a mop of purple hair.

"Heya," I greet as he turns around.

"I heard about your capture scarf," I pointed at the muffler around his neck.

"Did Mr. Aizawa train you?"

He nods, pulling it up a bit higher.

"And that voice modulator, it's almost indistinguishable from he real thing," I grin.

Suddenly, he comes to a stop and I stop too.

"I'm going to find a way around your immunity to my quirk."

I blink. He sure sounded real determined.

"Oh, sure," I smile, grabbing onto his shoulders and leading him back towards the assembly area.

"I-I mean it...!" he protested as I continued to drag him forwards.

He was a lot more built than before, but still way weaker than the people I normally tortured with my whims.

"Mhmm! You'd better!" I laugh as we stumble up the stairs onto the viewing deck.

"You-" he stopped again and I decided not to pull him in case he tripped. "You want me to?"

The poor boy looked so confused.

"Duh, what if someone like me comes along and they're a villain!? That wouldn't be good for any of us!" I sigh, tossing my hands up in exasperation.

He blinks at me, slack jawed and altogether looking quite kerfuffled.

"We're on the same side Shinso," I laugh then pause.

"Ah, except for later of course, I'm still planning to pummel you in round 5," I grin and he finally cracks a smile.

"You can try, but I'll be winning that round," he declares, hurrying past me.

I snort and nod along, ambling up the stairs myself.

After some personalized feedback from Aizawa, I settled down in a circle with my round 5 team. Now I'd be able to watch the rest of the battles until my next round came.

"Momo and Kendo, then there's Tokoyami and Kuroiro," I mumbled as the screen showed the two round 2 teams walking to their bases. "Seems like the teams will be pretty similar, might be a close fight."

"I'll say! With the two shadow quirks, both of them would excel in dark environments, of course that would me-" I tuned out the rest of Midoriya's rambling.

Turning back to the screen, I watched as the next match unfolded.

First, Kuroiro had possessed Dark Shadow, rendering him mostly unusable.

But then, Tokoyami used his ultimate technique, Fallen Dark Angel, which allowed him to soar through the arena and chase after Kuroiro who had taken hold of Aoyama.

Hawks had told me about how Tokoyami had found a technique that allowed him to take to the skies at a pace that could almost keep up with his own.

That birdbrain always had an obsession with things that could fly.

Maybe that's why he took such a liking to me, though I wasn't exactly flying as much as I was plummeting to my death.

But still, he'd said he only took him on to get more info on 1-A happenings and because he was a fellow bird-like hero. Guess Tokoyami really proved himself.

'Hmm, Hawks did surprisingly well at mentoring this guy...'

'HAWKS!'

How could I have forgotten?

It had been a week at this point and he still hadn't gotten back to me.

It wasn't uncommon for him to be busy for long stretches of time, but he'd at least respond to my messages.

I checked my phone but there was still no response from him.

'how else can I-?'

I paused, feeling around the pockets of my costume.

"Fuck..."

I knew how, I had one of his feathers damn it.

I had it on a necklace and I was supposed to wear it every day.

But with how he'd never enforced that, I'd slowly grown out of the habit.

Well, I've never had to work so hard for a response from him before. After all, I was his ward.

'Isn't this parental neglect?!'

I let out a frustrated sigh and plop onto the floor, mood thoroughly soured.

I couldn't even keep focus on the match, only realizing it was over when Vlad King's voice boomed over the speakers, announcing 1-B's win.
