Chapter 146: AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES (World Heroes' Mission AU)

"Midoriya," Shoto called upon picking up.

"Do you have the suspect and the case?"

Upon hearing the boy's reply, Shoto gasped. 

"What on earth did you do?"

'Oof, sounds bad...'

"Calm down! Tell me what happened in order."

'Sounds REAL bad...'

Katsuki and I leaned in to try and catch what Deku was saying, but then Clair, a hero in the Otheon team, burst through the door yelling something about Deku.

We followed her into the hall we'd been using as the briefing room.

The news was playing over the projector screen.

"Once again, according to police reports, the suspect who is though to have killed 12 people is the Japanese hero, Deku, with the alias of Izuku Midoriya. He has been put on the nation-wide wanted list." The news anchor read out as picture of Deku flashed on screen.

'It IS real bad!'

"WHAT?!" I received a few nasty stares but my exclamation felt warranted.

Shoto slowly lifted his phone back to his ear.

'Right, Midoriya was still on the line...!'

"Midoriya, what did you really do?" Shoto whispered.

"You're on the wanted list as a mass murder suspect...!" he relayed the unfortunate new information to the boy.

Shoto flitted his eyes about restlessly until they landed on mine. Holding them there he gave quick orders to Deku.

"We'll look into this from our end, for now just get away from there immediately, they'll track you using the GPS."

I grab the phone from him, "Hey Broccoli, you'd better remove your phone's battery too after turning it off."

Without another word, Deku hung up and I passed the phone back to Shoto.

"The hell's going on?!" Katsuki bristled.

"Midoriya? Kill someone?" I scoffed, "he can't even harm an insect, let alone a person!"

In a way it was good that he was the one accused of such severe crimes. It was so unbelievable it was laughable.

In fact, it seemed all the 1-A interns across the globe agreed with us.

The news had spread to all the other World Hero teams.

"There's no way Midoriya could do something like that!" Denki's voice rang from my phone speaker.

"That's what I said!" I huffed in agreement, walking over to where I propped up my phone on the hotel room desk, both hands busy towel drying my hair.

I'd barely gotten out of the shower when the video call from Denki came through. He was stationed in Cairo, Egypt with the Lurkers and the rest of their interns, Sero, Ibara and grape pervert boy.

"Still, what the heck happened?" Sero piped up, peeking out from behind Denki's shoulder.

It seemed like they were sharing a room.

"That's what we're trying to find out," I sigh, plopping into the desk's chair.

"Endeavor paid a visit to the Otheon Police headquarters but they wouldn't say anything..."
