'Running... its always running...'

We set off into the fake disaster zone, plumes of smoke and ash rise in the distance.

In a rescue situation, my quirk was pretty handy. I could clear rubble pretty quick while also securing those who are injured.

'Guess I'll try filling in the gaps...'

The rest break off into small groups but I head off solo.

As I glance around it seems like the second-years from the other schools seemed very well-versed in rescue operations, swiftly clearing a helicopter landing area, designating a first-aid station and triage.

I head there first.

"Hey, triage right?" I smile at the blonde girl from Ketsubutsu.

She nods happily, "how can I help?"

"It's okay, I'm here to help you," I give her a wink as I turn to the rest of the students running triage.

"Could you guys gather some materials? Anything sturdy like wood, concrete or metal." I grab a large fallen slab of concrete nearby and form it into a rudimentary bed. "The floor here is uneven and dusty, it could increase chances of infection. I'll make beds to keep the more seriously injured."

They agree and head off while me and the blonde girl hold down triage for the time being.

Thankfully, by the time they return we had only had a handful of patients.

"Alright," I huff, wiping the sweat off my forehead. "Your beds are ready to use!"

After helping to shift the remaining patients onto the beds, I bid the triage team goodbye and set off into the disaster site to clear the riskier areas.

Then, as I'm running past a large fallen building, I hear screaming.

I freeze in my spot and scan the area.

'I can't see them, they must be...'

I glance down at the blood stained rubble before me and my stomach lurches.

'Not now, I can't think about that right now...!'

Still, I can't help myself as I kneel down to touch the cherry-red liquid.

"This is-" It bubbles in my hand before finally taking some shape. "just syrup..."

I stand up and try to shake myself out of it.

'It's fine, this is just a test. None of this is real.'

Another scream emerges from under the fallen concrete and I take in a deep breath.

I squat down and place both my hands on the concrete, it rumbles slightly before crumbling into pebbles, then dust.

I leap over the edge and jump into the now empty foundation of the building.

There I find a HUC member dressed as an old lady screeching her lungs out.

"TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH, YOU THINK A REAL OLD LADY COULD HAVE SURVIVED THAT LONG?!"

'ah... professionals all right'

"Don't worry ma'am, I'll get you out of here in no time," I flashed a charming smile as I crouch beside her to inspect her injuries. The lady splutters a few remarks in reply but seems rather content in my pretty boy hero persona.

'Blood on the head and the right shin, might be fractured.'

"All right ma'am," I place a hand on the concrete beside her as it forms into a flat bed. "Please lay down, try not to move too much as it could make your injuries worse."

I assist her in laying flat in spite of her grumbles.

I pull out some gauze I'd gathered from triage and tightly wrapped her head wound in it. I used my quirk to cut off her right pant leg just above the knee to get a better look at her leg wound. Then I fashioned a rock nearby into a splint, securing it to her leg with scraps of the fabric I removed from her pants.

When all was done, I then used my quirk to lift the platform up, making it trail beside me as we climbed out of the foundation.

On our return to the first-aid station, I ran into a few students who were struggling to carry their victims. I thus took on about 3 other injured on my trip to the first-aid area.

'Using my quirk on 4 people at once is exhausting.'

I paused to take a quick breather after finally dropping off my recues.

It felt like this exercise was never-ending. My fingers were cold and numb, no doubt a result of my quirk use.

Then an explosion rings out.

'That's right beside first-aid-!'

"A large scale terrorist attack has broken out!" The announcer rang.

Midoriya runs up beside me. "Everyone! It's the exercise scenario!"

And as the smoke clears from the explosion we see him.

Pro Hero Gang Orca.

"The number 10 hero!" Broccoli boy gasped and I sighed.

'this is gonna be a long day...'

"Get everyone to safety!" "Midori, get the patients away!"

I lock eyes with Yo Shindo.

'of all the people I could jinx...'

Pushing aside the nasty feelings I had for the man, we both ran forward, leaving evacuation to Broccoli and the others.

"I'll keep hitting them with tremors at one second intervals," he shouted and I nod.

I keep a few paces behind him and place my hand on the walls of the arena. With a loud creak, the walls bend out and slowly begin closing the villains in.

"I won't let you get close!" Shindo yells as the floor before him ruptures.

'Huh, pretty cool quirk for an asshole.'

When suddenly-

"SHINDO-" but my call was too late, in the blink of an eye Gang Orca had appeared before the boy, using his sonic wave to send him flying back.

I bite back an expletive, instead diving back to catch him.

I hadn't even been able to complete the wall around us.

Screams of shock echo from the people behind us. The people we were protecting.

'this fucker isn't going easy on us at all...'

"You send a single novice when there's this much difference in ability?" Gang Orca looms above us. "You underestimate me."

"Fuck's sake..." I mutter as I quickly throw Shindo over my shoulder. "EVERYONE, GO!" I yell, stomping a foot on the ground causing a shockwave that keeps Gang Orca off balance for just a second as I turn tail.

Then I hear a second sonic screech.

I glace back to see a giant wall of ice now falling to pieces.

'Candycane!'

Up ahead, the rest of 1-A was running up to help.

Mina approaches me, taking the man off my shoulders. "Go help Todoroki!"

I grin as I sprint away.

"Don't have to tell me twice!"
