Chapter 160: DUN DUN DUNNNNN

"Katsuki!" Shoto yelled, jumping before the boy.

He set up a large ice blockade before going to check on the blonde.

"I'm fine, damnit!" Katsuki hissed, getting back to his feet.

He looked down at his hand.

He'd been grabbed and thrown while trying to use one of his explosions.

Just that few seconds of contact had burnt through his glove and burnt some of his hand.

"What is that thing?" Shoto scowled.

They both kept watchful eyes over the barricade, it seemed to be holding for now.

"Who the hell knows?"

But then, a hissing sound started to get closer.

The wall was standing but a glow started to get brighter through it.

'Wait, that's-!'

"He's walking through the ice?!" Shoto gasped as they readied their attacks.

Sure enough, the villain emerged, unphased by the blockade.

Katsuki clicked his tongue.

"TRY WALKING THROUGH THIS!"

He'd learnt his lesson, keeping his distance was a good idea.

Instead he leapt into the air and fired down.

'Got him-!'

Or he thought he did.

A shiver shoots down his spine and he whips around only to get slammed back into the floor with a kick.

Thankfully, Shoto was there to catch him with his ice.

The half-and-half boy retaliated with flames.

Something wasn't right.

'I definitely hit him...! So how did he?!'

Shoto rushes forward, using a combination of his ice and fire to attack.

"Flashfreeze Heatwave!"

The resulting mix seems to hit it's target and explode into a cloud of steam.

But something was off.

He threw up a wall of ice just in time to catch a kick from the creature.

Somehow, this figure had gotten behind him.

Both boys regrouped.

"He's everywhere..." Shoto hissed, readying his quirks.

Katsuki scoffed.

"Like a ghost or some shit?"

The pair began firing, but the creature was an expert in evasion.

He was running circles around the pair.

The flashes of their quirks against the light the figure was putting off, it made for a disorienting mix.

Katsuki clicked his tongue.

"STAY STILL DAMNIT!" he aimed at the floor.

If done correctly, a shockwave would shoot out under them, knocking their opponent into the air.

'Then I'll have the advantage!'

But right as his hands touched the floor.

"Fuck-?!"
