I awoke the next morning to a buzzing sound.

I sat up groggily, glancing around the room.

The two boys in bed with me were still sound asleep, they seemed dead tired, especially Blasty since he got to bed so much later than usual.

Carefully, I slipped out from under their arms and crawled off the bed.

The buzzing led me to my hero costume, discarded in a pile on the floor after the events of last night.

'Speaking of...

I glance down at my pajamas for the previous night.

'This shirt is new... When did Katsuki's clothes get so big?'

It couldn't have been just because I lost some weight, he had definitely bulked up.

"Ugh, teenage boys and their growth spurts," I mutter begrudgingly, crouching to the floor to rummage through my clothes.

I quickly isolated the noise to my walkie-talkie that I'd been using to communicate with Hawks and the other heroes. I must have forgotten to switch it off last night, it was still on.

"...on the move," Hawk's voice came over the speaker.

"I repeat, Deku is headed west."

I freeze, my eyes widening at his words.

My head whips around frantically until my eyes land on a small alarm clock on Katsuki's desk.

'It's 6am... Deku had dayshift all of yesterday and was still active when I got back...'

'When was the last time he'd had a break...?'

A chill shoots down my spine.

Call it instinct or my gut but I knew something was off.

Immediately I pressed the speak button on the walkie.

"Where is Deku now? What happened last night?" I demanded into the speaker.

It was quite literally radio silence.

So I asked again, and again.

"Hawks? Hawks!" I grit my teeth as nothing but static continued to flow from the receiver.

"Fuck!" I hiss, throwing the walkie across the room.

'They must have changed frequencies. Something's happened and they're trying to cut me off like the rest of 1-A...!'

I grab my costume and head for the door.

'No way in hell...'

"...Ryo...?" a soft voice whispered.

I startle, turning back around to see Shoto sitting up in bed, rubbing at his eyes.

Katsuki slowly rose as well, grumbling.

"What the hell is with all the-"he paused, catching sight of me with my hand on the doorknob and my costume in another.

"And what the fuck do you think you're doing?" he seethed, voice deeper than usual in the morning.

I sigh, dropping my hand from the door.

"Something's happened on the prohero side, Deku's been active for way too long and now they're not responding. I'm gonna go-" I'm cut off as Katsuki clicks his tongue loudly.

"Gonna do what, huh?" he grumbled, throwing off the sheets and getting to his feet.

Somehow I felt like a child about to be scolded.

He continued to mumble under his breath as he slipped on his house slippers and rubbed at his bedhead before walking towards me.

"Me, me, me, I have to do this, I'm gonna do that," he huffed, "you and the shitty nerd all sound the same, shut the hell up already."

He shoved past me, flinging open the door and walking out.

I stared blankly, turning back to Shoto for clarification to see that he too was making his way to the door.

"We haven't just been waiting around all this time, you know," he gave a small smile before gently leading me outside by the hand.

We headed down to the common room, me half-expecting for it to be as silent and empty as it would usually be on a early morning, but...

"Oh, Ryo! When did you get back?" Denki cheered, launching at me and locking me into a bear hug.

Mina stomped over with a large grin on her face, "well that's one less person to track down!"

"You should have told us he was back sooner! We were already spilt into two search teams!" Kirishima chided Katsuki who seemed to just shrug the boy's complaints off.

"Everyone...?" I mutter incredulously.

The whole of 1-A was currently occupying the common room.

What's more, they were clearly in the middle of putting on their hero costumes.

"What's going on...? You guys aren't supposed to be deployed-

"We're staging an intervention!" Hagakure cheered, jumping up and down.

Or at least I was assuming she was. Being in her hero costume made her barely visible.

"That's right!" Kirishima grinned, "it's time for us to bring back our rogue classmates!"

"Or well, classmate, seeing as the other one came back on their own," Denki side-eyed me with a smile.

I stared at them in disbelief.

"What? But you can't just- How did you-?"

Denki just smiled at me cheekily before pulling me to my feet.

"Principal Nezu agreed with us," Jirou explained, walking over as she adjusted her costume's jacket.

Sero nodded, joining the ever-increasing group of people around me. "He even helped us corner Endeavor!"

I look over at Shoto who looked surprisingly smug for someone with a perpetually neutral expression.

"Well, Bakugou was pretty convincing too!" Denki piped up, ultimately sealing his own fate, " 'I know that nerd the best!' how touching!"

Expectedly, Katsuki whapped the boy over the head, sending him tumbling to the floor.

But still, as I locked eyes with the blonde, I could see just how invested he was in this mission.

In fact, they all were.

They had stormed into the principal's office and even managed to strongarm the number one hero into letting them do what they want, all so that Midoriya wouldn't have to do everything on his own.

I thought that me being there for Midoriya would have been enough for the class' worries to subside, but instead they launched a whole recon mission for the both of us.

I burst out laughing, drawing a few confused faces.

"You guys are amazing, seriously," I sigh, wiping the tears of laughter from my eyes.

"All right, fine, sure."

-

"Let's go bring back our shitty nerd."
