Thanks to a combination of Mirko's and Present Mic's efforts, the tank containing Shigaraki had been shattered. Without it, he was now a motionless corpse on the floor.

The Doctor scrambled over the controls but there was nothing he can do.

Nothing could jumpstart Tomura Shigaraki's heart anymore.

Present Mic held the pudgy Doctor up by his collar as he sobbed.

"This was what I'd been living for...! It's over! It's all over!" he cried.

"The dreams of the Lord of Evil..." his crazed mutterings left Mic dumbfounded.

"More importantly," Mic huffed, dragging the man behind him.

"The Nomus are acting on your instructions, right? Stop the guys who are going crazy over there! Hey!"

Hauling the portly old man, Mic ran towards the entrance of the secret lab where the other heroes were still fending off the high-ends.

"X-less!" he called back to the only other hero who had accompanied him to the back corner of the lab where Shigaraki and the Doctor had been.

"Look after Shigaraki! I'm counting on you!"

It was a simple task, looking after the equivalent of a dead man.

That's what anyone would have thought.

Be it the hero who had been tasked with it.

Or the one who left him to it in order to save his friends.

Who could have known that in the seconds following Present Mic leaving the room, something most ghastly indeed would appear.

"G-ghost-!

X-less gasped as a blurry white mist appeared before him.

It was approaching Shigaraki's body.

He had to stop it.

His quirk, it was the only way.

He jumped before Shigaraki's body and fired the laser from his right eye, directly at the ghostly creature.

If it was real, it would have shot a hole through it.

If it wasn't it would have passed right through.

So why...?

'It's... making it bigger?!'

His quirk rendered useless, all X-less can do is watch as the blur of white consumes his vision.

A searing pain rips through his arms as he's lifted by his shoulders and flung across the room with ease.

Laying there, he can barely feel his arms as his vision swims.

In the distance he can vaguely make out the creature reach towards Tomura Shigaraki.

It rests what can only be described as its hands on the man's chest.

And just like that, Tomura Shigaraki was alive once more.

"Move it!" Katsuki yelled as they ushered the civilians towards the shuttle bus.

It was the last shuttle, after this the fifth and last ward of the town would have been evacuated.

The blonde was anxious for them to get a move on, and Shoto had begun to pick up on it.

"It's not like you to be so impatient," he meant it as an off-handed remark, but Katsuki glared back at him with narrowed crimson eyes.
