New Life

Evanescence Summer Nakashige's Point of View

Sa dulo ng mga nakahilerang butlers at maids, is my grandfather and grandmother whom I didn't saw personally since the last time I stayed here.

"Lolo! Lola!" My smile widen as I run towards them and immediately embraced them. "I miss you both!"

"We also miss you, Evan." They both said in unison and hugged me tighter before letting me go.

Tumuloy kami sa may living room habang nakahawak sa magkabilang kamay ko sina Lolo at Lola. Napatawa na lang ako dahil pareho nilang ayaw bitawan ang mga kamay ko.

"How are you?" Lola immediately asked as we sat at the long sofa. But before I can even answer her, she suddenly started softly pinching my cheeks.

I chuckled. "Lola, baka lumaki ang mga pingi ko niyan." Pagbibiro ko na ikinatawa nila pareho.

"Don't worry. Maganda ka pa rin naman kahit na maging chubby ang mga cheeks mo." Agad niyang sabi.

"I'm doing fine po. How about you po?" Tanong ko at masaya naman nila akong sinagot.

After talking with them for awhile, they let go of me and told me to rest for awhile.

"And before I forgot Evan." Paakyat na sana ako ng tawagin ako ni Lolo. "You need to take the entrance exam later. I hope you studied days ago?"

"Of course, Lo." I grinned and his smile widen.

Umakyat na ako habang sinusuri ang bawat dinadaanan ko. Sa twelve years na hindi ko pag-uwi dito, marami na rin ang nagbago. Ang mga muwebles ng bahay. Ang kulay ng walls. Pati ang pinalit na chandelier nina Lolo dati sa nabasag ko noong bata pa ako ay bago na rin.

Nagbago na rin ang design ng bahay. Dad told me two years ago that this house was renovated to occupy more visitors. Well, hindi ko sigurado kung ilan ba ang apo ng mga kapatid ni Lolo. Sila lang naman ang active na magpunta dito, kaya malamang sila din ang dahilan kung bakit nag-decide sila Lolo na ipa-renovate ang bahay.

Napansin ko rin na nadagdagan ang mga guestrooms. May mga number na nga ang mga pinto na parang nasa hotel lang.

"Lolo told me that my name is imprinted at the door itself." I whispered and I immediately saw it, yeah, Lolo's not kidding.

Nakatatak nga ang Evan, capital letters lahat sa may aluminum plate na nasa may pinto. Kinuha ko na lang ang nakalahay na key sa may keyhole tsaka na binuksan ang pinto.

A wide smile appeared on my lips when I saw the interior design of my room. It was mezzanine type of room.

Nasa may right side ang bed ko, a side table and other furniture like paintings and a vase with an indoor plant. Sa right side naman ay ang set of sofa, a center table, my walk in closet, vanity and especially the bathroom and restroom.

The loft area above my bed seems really cozy. Umakyat ako sa loft area gamit a wooden stair na more than a meter a layo sa may bed ko. Pagkatapak ko pa lang ay naramdaman ko na agad ang malambot na carpet, may mga pillows din at ang maliit na shelf sa gilid na puno ng mga books.

It's really cozy. Pagkahiga ko pa lang sa may carpet ay mabilis akong hinila ng antok. Nakalimutan ko ng magpalit pa ng damit para man lang sana comfortable ako.

I woke up when I heard someone's knocking.

"Give me a minute!" I shouted before running towards the restroom to check myself first. Since nakita ko naman na presentable pa rin ako ay binuksan ko na ang pinto.
