Girl's Night

I awoke with a smile despite yesterday's events at Claude’s house. I couldn’t let him get to me, I had to make the best of things. I would show him that he didn’t affect me in the slightest way, though he probably knew I disliked him after what happened. Plus, tonight was my Girl’s Night with Lilith and that was enough to brighten up my day. I threw the covers off of my body as I sprung up in joy and started getting ready for a fun filled day.

Grabbing my book bag, I noticed the crumpled paper on which I had Claude's information for our project. Though I wanted to rip it to shreds and never see it again, I couldn’t. It was part of our project and trust me I definitely wanted him to get a bad grade because of me thus making him furious with me, but my grade was on the line too. I know, I’m one of the most powerful werewolves in the world, why should I care about stupid grades in school? My mother cared. She filled me with information and read me books and told me stories growing up. It was silly thinking that getting a measly A on a paper would fill the void of my mother not being there, but it helped somewhat. I knew where ever her soul may be, she could be smiling at the thought of her own daughter keeping up her grades despite what had happened.

I shoved the paper angrily into my bag as I made my way to school. Once there I practically ran to Lilith’s locker in excitement. I hadn’t had a Girl's Night in several years, I hadn’t done a lot in several years. A Cheshire grin was plastered onto my face as I saw Lilith. She eyed me curiously, wondering what my grin was for.

“You sure are a happy cat,” she smiled, “More of a morning person now?”

I remembered the other day when I couldn't sleep and tiredness overtook me. Last night I had slept perfectly, despite Claude’s stench lingering on me all through the night.

“Slept like a baby,” I commented, “And tonight is our Girl's Night.”

“I know,” she winked, “I can’t wait! A house all to ourselves! No limitations to the fun!”

I burst out laughing, “Hold your horses Lil, it isn't like we’re going to have some massive adventure just because adults aren’t around.”

“But now, we don't have to be quiet and all that,” she smiled.

I shrugged my shoulders, “True.”

Daniel approached us, immediately kissing Lilith. "You’re going to miss all the fun,” Lilith teased at Daniel.

“I find football fun,” Daniel chuckled.

“I bet I could beat you at football,” I smirked.

“No way a girl could beat me,” he scoffed.

“One day,” I laughed with a shrug.

Claude’s smell filled my nose as the bell rang and Lilith and I walked to first period. I fought the urge to looked around for him, but I couldn’t help myself as my eyes subtly lingered. As the hallway filled with students, his smell became faint mixing in the air. I found myself frowning a bit for whatever reason. At least I wouldn’t have to see him and have my day ruined so early.

The entire day was like this, the sniff of Claude’s scent and my head snapped up while my eyes darted around. Every time, I didn’t find him which had me both happy and quite irritated. I tried my best to ignore his scent, but his smell suffocated my lungs.

Stupid vampire, I muttered in my head, stupid smelly vampire. Go take a shower.

It was lunch and Lilith and I sat outside in the field with the Reilly Pack. Talking amongst ourselves, Matthew pulled me to the side.
