Two Weeks
On Sunday, I awoke to Sanders in my bed from the night before. He and his family were about to head back to Florida, to their home. Sanders tried to convince me to go with them, but I refused again. I was happy here, despite some people being here - more like bloodsucker. Meredith told me not to open what she had brought me just yet, that I would know when the time was right. That made me extremely confused. What exactly was inside? I guess I would have to wait “until the time was right”. The Lucketts and I said our goodbyes, them all promising to come back soon. As they left, the water works started and smiles were everywhere. Saying goodbye was difficult, but it was easier because I knew I would see them again and I would speak to them on the phone. Those little things made everything seem so much better.
That school week, everything went back to normal. I would go to school, hangout with Lilith and tease Daniel - whom made it way to easy for me to do so. I would spend endless hours one the phone with Sanders and Meredith talking about anything and everything. I even spent time with Rebecca, helping her shop around town. I would hang out with the Reilly pack and play around with them in wolf form. I had told them what had happened at the Royals meeting, but kept out some things like the wolfsbane. I didn’t need the pack worrying just yet. They promised to keep me safe, and to warn me if anything was up. They had all become good friends, even Nick who continued his flirting.
The next school week, things stayed the same. School, Lilith, Daniel, the pack, Rebecca, John, and so on. Claude stayed the same as well. He hadn’t spoken to me directly since the argument we had that Thursday I went to his house to work on our project. There would be occasional glances and witty remarks, but never face-to-face contact. This made me somewhat glad because I didn’t have to be around him all the time. Claude sure could make be furious and so easily, too. I knew it wasn’t his fault that the Chamberlain Clan had killed my family, but still the things he had said during the argument had made me dislike him. My wolf became restless whenever I was around him and his scent was unbearable. I knew eventually I would have to speak with him because of our project and because of something else.
I had found out that Selene was in fact Nick’s mate, despite his flirting with me he was actually in love with her. It made some sense, though, they were actually kind of perfect for each other in a way. It was tricky when a wolf was mated to a human, since they didn’t feel the pull towards the other as strongly as the wolf did. Nick basically had to charm Selene and slowly reveal his true nature to her. It was no doubt that Selene felt something towards Nick, but she may just be denying it - hence why she hooks up with Claude.
It sent me over the edge me when I found out Selene and Claude were going to the dance together. Claude had some nerve taking someone’s mate, of all people, to a dance when she should be going with Nick! I wondered if Claude had known about Selene and Nick, but I figured I would have to tell him even if he did. And if he did, he was very cruel. Seeing your mate with someone else just about throws a wolf over the edge, Selene belonged to Nick - or at least that’s how he saw it. Nick and I had made a plan to go to the dance together, so Selene could get a bit jealous and hopefully realize her feelings for Nick. The things I do for people, I swear.
It was Saturday today, two weeks since my argument with Claude and about three weeks since my arrival in Riverdale. Today marked October 27, my project was due on this upcoming Thursday, the 29th, then it was the Halloween Dance on Friday, the 30th, and finally All Hallows Eve on Saturday, the 31st obviously. Basically, a lot was to be done this week and I was a bit excited.
I sat downstairs on my couch as I waited for Lilith to arrive so we could go shopping, costume shopping. Lilith had left it to the last weekend before the dance and I highly doubted any good costumes would be left in the shops. As I heard her car approaching my home, I went outside. She wore a big smile as I got into the passenger seat.
