Memories

“Hello there Viola!” Marty greeted me as I walked up to him in the city streets.

I had left my car in one of those parking garages a block away for safe keeping. I didn’t want my lovely car to be stolen, or even risk it. I would only be gone for a couple of hours since I needed this trip to be very quick, too. Marty had called me when I arrived in the city to meet him on Main street and 11th so we could walk to his jet airplane from there.

Marty was a young man around his early twenties, but he was very, very intelligent. Some would say he was a genius, and in fact he was. He had graduated from Harvard university by the age of fifteen. Marty was tall and a bit lanky. He had messy brown hair and brown eyes to match. He wore glasses and had the most adorable smile. Despite the stereotype for nerd, Marty was a handsome young man.

“Hey Marty,” I smiled, “Now, where to?”

We caught a taxi and Marty directed him to a deserted area in the downtown part of the city. Besides the cab we were in there was no other cars around for what seemed like miles, making it seem a bit sketchy. We got dropped off at a building that looked as if it were about to collapse and others that held the same look surrounded it.

I cocked an eyebrow at Marty as he shrugged his shoulders at my expression. We strolled forward to the fence surrounding the area we were supposed to get in to.

“We’re going to have to jump,” Marty stated and began to do so.

He struggled to get to the top but once he did he smiled down at me with satisfaction which cause him to lose his balance and fall off. Thankfully, he latched his hands onto the top on the fence and jumped on to the floor with a thump.

“C’mon,” he rushed me, “We haven’t got all day now.”

A small laugh left my throat as the sun beat down on me. My eyes quickly found a door a few feet away that looked open. As I walked to it, Marty eyed me curiously. As I opened the door and went through, Marty’s mouth fell open.

“Oh Marty,” I laughed.

“Shut up Viola,” he muttered embarrassed.

“C’mon,” he started walking ahead of me, “It’s around the back!”

I rushed forward and caught up to him. After walking for several minutes, we arrived behind the giant, old building that hid Marty’s jet airplane. The jet was simple: white and not too large like a regular airplane. Marty had built this jet himself a couple of years back and had made it way faster than all of the other jets on the earth - making it very handy for quick trips. Marty also had lessons in driving planes, but never officially got his licence which is why he could never land  in an actual airport. Some times I wondered how no one noticed a giant jet landing in places it shouldn’t, but I never actually wanted to know why just as long as everything went as planned.

“It never ceases to amaze me,” I spoke out loud as I turned to Marty who had a grin on his face.

“She is a beauty,” he smiled, “And I did make it after all.”

“Stop being so cocky,” I let out a laugh.

“I need to get my ego back up,” he joked, “What happened back there bruised it a little, Viola.”

“Just go walk out into the streets,” I joked, “Your ego will grow ten times its size with all the women that will throw themselves onto you!”

He shook his head slightly. “Oh Viola,” he muttered.

Out of his pocket he took out a remote control and pushed some buttons. Immediately after, the jet's stairs open out so we could get inside. We rushed forward and entered inside. The inside of the jet was fancy, big screen televisions, game consoles, big comfy chairs, the whole nine yards.
