Hard Liquor Mixed With Friends

The rest of the dance went pretty well, despite Claude and well, you know. After he left me there dumbfounded, and a bit speechless might I add, I shook it off as best I could and went back to my friends. Thankfully, none of them noticed except for Matthew. I told him to drop it and never speak of it again to anyone, like a good friend he promised not to. We spent the night dancing like idiots and laughing at silly things. Nick and Selene would keep to themselves, but join in our fun every so often. It seemed too good to be true that Nick and Selene got together just like that, but it happened and I was more than happy for Nick. I was also a bit happy that she wouldn’t be around Claude. Weird? Trust me, I noticed.

Lilith ended up sleeping over at my house since she was too tired to even get home. I even had to carry her into my house, poor little Lilith! She didn’t weigh much to me so it was easy to carry her up. Daniel was blabbing on about how I couldn’t do it and how I was going to drop her, I sure shut him up. Daniel can be so silly sometimes, but it is so amusing.

“VIOLA, WAKE UP,” a voice buzzed in my ear, “WAKE UP! HURRY!”

I jumped up immediately alert. My eyes darted around for any intruders and I found one, Lilith. She was on the side of my bed, looking at me with eager eyes. Her blonde hair was all messy and she looked like a kid waiting for her parents to wake up so she can open her christmas presents. I frowned at her, then buried my face back into my pillow. I let out a muffled, “Leave me alone. Sleep.”

Suddenly, my covers were ripped off of me. Like that is going to do anything, I smirked in my mind. Lilith let out a sigh and I could feel her plop onto my bed sadly. She let out another sigh, one more dramatic and I ignored it again. She continued to do so until I sat up groaning and turned to her.

“What?” I mumbled. I like to sleep in sometimes, so what.

“Can you guess what today is?” she grinned.

“Saturday,” I stated, “which means I get to sleep in.”

She frowned slightly but quickly a smile replaced it as she yelled, “IT’S HALLOWEEN!”

“Whoa, Lil!” I covered my ears. Super hearing does not go well with people yelling in your ear, especially if you just woke up.

“Are you awake yet?” she chirped.

“Yes I am,” I threw a small smile her way, “Now why are you so happy for Halloween?”

“Because today is the day creepy stuff happens!” she smiled like a madman, “Ghost, vampires, zombies, werewolves, and all that!”

A small chuckle left my lips, “But none of that stuff is real, Lilith.”

Okay, that is a lie, I thought.

She frowned slightly, “You never know! Anything is possible.”

I shrugged my shoulders, “Well, that is true. Who knows, maybe unicorns are also flying around!”

“Stop teasing me,” she huffed and added a smile at the end.

“Who woke me up? Oh yes, you did! I have the right to tease you at the moment,” I laughed and hugged her.

She put on a fake frown as I pulled away, “It’s not my fault you sleep like a bear.”

I scoffed, “Next you’re going to tell me I snore in my sleep.”

“Well...,” she teased.

“I do not snore!” I defended myself.

“Okay, okay, you don’t snore,” she smiled, “...well maybe just a little.”
