But Why

I stood on three legs while the last vampire stood only a few meters away. My eyes ran over the figure as his scent filled my entire soul. My wolf was in attack mode, ready to kill and survive whatever it took. Despite my wounds and the two knifes inserted in me, I bared my teeth and let a growl out. But this wasn’t to the new figure standing in the clearing, it was to the remaining vampire that belonged to the Chamberlain Clan.

The vampire’s eyes left me and turned to the figure, with a smirk on his face. He moved a step forward and a deep growl left me, warning him not to move any closer. He looked at me pathetically and chuckled a bit. It was evident that I was hurt badly, but that wouldn’t stop me from protecting the figure.

I put down the hind leg that was deeply hurt and a whine escaped my lips. The pain was bad, but I could ignore it. The figure’s eyes never left me, anger shown on his face as he overlooked my wounded body.

I took the time to really take the whole situation in. My eyes glazed over him, his messy hair and the droplets of sweat on his face. His blue eyes looked terrified and angered. His clothes had sweat marks from running here, where ever ‘here’ was. He held a bag in his hand, while his other hand was balled up in frustration and hate. His eyes held something else to them though, sadness and hurt.

A small gasp left his pale, pink lips, “Viola.”

Claude, I thought in my head.

His eyes turned to the final vampire and they held no emotion. He threw the bag in his hand to the side of him quickly and lunged at the vampire. A growl erupted in my chest and I attempted to run forward. Another whine left me as I stopped.

“Stay there!” Claude roared as he punched the vampire in the face, sending him a few feet back.

I howled in fear of him losing. Claude was most definitely stronger than the rogue since he was royalty, but I didn’t want him to get hurt because of me. I can admit that I was scared that he would somehow die and I became extremely possesive as if I was supposed to protect him from harms way. Though I was standing, I was panting deeply from fighting the other three vampires. All I could do was watch as Claude and the vampire fought.

Every time the vampire would get a hit at Claude, I would attempt to run forward and attack him for doing so but I couldn't. The loss of blood was starting to hit me as I began to tire. Claude finally snapped the vampire’s neck and threw him into the fire after several minutes of punches and kicks.

He picked up the bag from the floor and walked to me, sorrow in his eyes.

“I brought you clothes to change in to,” he spoke quietly, “You can’t run back home with all those wounds.”

I want to scoff and tell him that I could do perfectly fine without him but I was to tired to do so. I looked back at the knifes lodged into my skin and turned to him with a whine. A horrified look crossed his face as he understood what I needed him to do. I needed him to pull them out so my wounds could heal properly.

“I can’t,” he whispered sadly.

I walked forward and licked his arm. I nudged him and released another whine.  I looked up into his eyes, showing him the pain I was in and how I needed him to do this. A small frown formed on his perfect lips.

“Close your eyes,” he whispered as he reached for one of the knifes.

Instantly, the knife was gone and I howled in pain. I could feel the blood escaping my body. Claude quickly opened the backpack and got out a rag. He put it on the wound and applied pressure to make the bleeding stop. When it did stop, he pulled out the other knife and did the same. The entire time, his eyes never left me.
