The Blackmores

“Rams,” I heard a deep voice huff in the darkness of my mind, “the Bennetts are dead. We have sent the message to the girl, what more fo you want?”

“Why don’t we just kill her entire town?” a female voice scoffed.

“Silence!” a familiar voice roared, “We will do this my way or you all will not get the crown.”

“This whole thing has dragged on too long Emer-” another male voice spoke.

“Don’t speak my name, dimwit!” the familiar voice growled, “This whole thing takes time. Don’t worry, we will kill all of the Blackmores as well. You will all get what I promised you.”

I shot up slightly in my seat and Claude glanced at me funny. He cocked one of his eyebrows at me and immediately I became slightly embarrassed. I ran a hand through my hair as a sheepish smile placed itself on my face.

“Are you okay?” Claude questioned.

“Yeah,” I smiled, “Just a dream I had. I didn't even know I fell asleep.”

“Dreamin’ about me?” he winked causing butterflies to erupt in my stomach.

“Stop being so cocky,” I rolled my eyes, “It isn’t attractive.”

“Everything about me is attractive,” he gave me a crooked smile that made me melt.

“Actually, no,” I grinned, bursting his bubble.

“Your rapid heartbeat tells me otherwise,” he smirked.

My cheeks heated up as my heart pounded in my ears. He was right, but I would never admit it to him - at least not now. I looked away from Claude and cleared my throat.

“How long till we’re in Essex?” I questioned.

“Actually,” he answered, “We’ll be landing in a couple on minutes.”

I raised my eyebrows, “Did I sleep through the whole ride?”

“Kind of,” he let out a chuckle.

“That’s not even funny!” I stuck out my tongue at him.

“Yes,” he grinned, “But you saying my name in your sleep was quite amusing and adorable.”

I froze in my seat as I felt my heartbeat pick up even more. Heat rushed to my face as my cheeks tinted a shade of red. I overlooked Claude’s amused expression and he burst out laughing.

“You jerk,” I muttered as I leaned forward and hit him.

“You should’ve seen your face,” he chuckled.

“Ha ha,” I said sarcastically, “Like I would ever say your name in my sleep.”

Claude’s smile dropped off of his face for a moment before a smirk was put in its place, quickly covering whatever emotion Claude was feeling just then.

“We’ll see about that,” he stated as if he was going to prove me wrong.

Slowly, I felt the jet land on earth as the wheels skidded on the pavement of the airport in Essex. I glanced outside and saw no difference in England from America just yet, but then again it was night so I couldn’t see much. It felt odd, though, it felt as if I hadn’t even left my home but in reality all my loved ones were a country away.

“C’mon,” Claude told me as he stood up once the jet stopped moving, “We’re here.”

Claude grabbed my suitcase and motioned for me to follow him. It was dark out, probably because of the 8 hour time difference from California. We had left California around 8pm and had gotten here in a an hour or so - I honestly didn’t know the exact time. The air smelled different, almost as if it were fresher and cooler.
