Gone
Claude’s mouth slightly dropped open at my words. Worry was etched on his face as he overlooked me.“Are you okay? What happened?” he spoke calmly.
“They - they attacked,” my voice began to break, “They murdered the Bennetts. They killed the entire pack, all because of me. Claude, it’s all because of me. I have to fix it, I have to fix it all.”
“That’s not even the worse part,” I looked at him with a bit of fear, “They used their dead bodies to spell out ‘you’re next’. They’re coming after me and they don't care who they have to kill. Claude, it’s all because of me.”
I blurted out everything to him because at the moment I didn’t care. I trusted Claude, for whatever reason I trusted him entirely. As the tears I didn’t know I was holding in fell down my face, Claude didn’t speak. He just pulled me into his arms as I sobbed. His touch calmed me down and made me feel safe. As his cold aroma suffocated me, I knew that it was okay for me to feel how I did about Claude. Everything about this seemed so right. I didn’t want to go against any of it, I wanted him and only him.
“You’re safe,” he whispered as he kissed my forehead, “You’re safe.”
I pulled away and searched his blue orbs for something, anything, and found a mixture of emotions swirling: anger, hate, worry, and some other emotion I have never seen before. I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes as I recomposed myself from my little breakdown.
Claude placed his lips softly onto mine making me melt. When we parted, he placed his forehead gently on mine and gazed into my eyes.
“Nothing is going to happen to you,” he whispered, “I promise.”
I just slowly nodded as he quickly stepped back and pulled out his cell phone. His hand grabbed hold of mine for comfort as he dialed a number. He patiently waited for the other person to wake up.
“Mother,” Claude greeted, “I need the private jet.”
I strained my ears to hear with his mother was saying on the other line.
“Has something happen, my dear son?” she spoke in a soothing British accent.
“Yes, mother,” Claude answered as he gazed at me, “And I’m bring the Diamond’s daughter.”
“Celeste and Ven Diamond?” she questioned, “Viola?”
“Yes,” Claude let out a sigh, “I will see you soon, mum. We have much to discuss.”
“I will let the guards know not to attack,” she stated in a firm voice, “and I will let your father know. I’m glad you're finally coming home, despite the circumstances.”
I furrowed my brows as Claude looked to the ground.
“I love you, mother,” he spoke softly before hanging up the phone.
He stood there with a somewhat pained look on his face as he didn’t look at me. He looked frustrated and worried beyond measure as he took a deep beath in as if calming himself down. I didn’t know what Claude was thinking right now and I'd give me entire soul to take a peek in his mind, to know him and everything he was thinking.
I had yet to find out who Claude Blackmore was, but I hoped that this trip would let me know. I was going with Claude to his home, his kingdom that he had run away from for an unknown reason. Right now it was beyond evident that I knew nothing about him besides what I had learned in my time being here in Riverdale. Even my assumptions about him had begun to slowly wither away as I found out they were false.
