{This is a special chapter as a thank you for your support! We hit 70 chapters. This is literally the longest fanfic I've ever written. AND Black Clover is coming back from hiatus, so I have a lot of catching up to do! Anyway, this is a special chapter in an alternate timeline where [Y/n] is the Queen of the Clover Kingdom instead of Agustus being king. Magic is still the same because I'm lazy. This is mostly to be able to write in romance with the some of the captains, lol. [Y/n] is not related to Julius in this timeline, of course. Enjoy!}

The Clover Kingdom. In this kingdom where magic is everything, where peace and prosperity were an everyday practice, there was one queen who rule over the land.

Queen [Y/n] Themiere Clover!

Loved and admired by all in her kingdom, her majesty has worked hard to hone her magic and support her Magic Knights in order to keep her subjects safe. And she intends to love and protect her kingdom until her dying breath.

"Your status hardly ever matters on the battlefield!" Her majesty's strong tone boomed throughout the arena where the Magic Knight's exam was being held, "It matters not if your royalty or if you live in poverty, all of the Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom abide by one promise..." Her [e/c] eyes narrowed into the crowd show her seriousness, "To protect this kingdom and everyone in it. Put your absolute best skills forward and prove your worthiness to each captain. To those who are selected, my kingdom is in your hands, and I have complete faith in you. To those who fail, hone your skills and keep fighting, giving up is never acceptable! Good luck to you all."

The arena erupted in cheers and applauses. A speech from the queen always lit a fire of determination in her subjects. "That's the queen?!" A certain ashy haired boy has stars in his eyes, "You heard that, Yuno! I'll become a Magic Knight then the Wizard King!"

"Not a chance." His raven-haired friend responded.

[Y/n] turned to her captains, who all bowed to her.

"That was an amazing speech, your Majesty, as always." William complimented as he stood straight. "I agree." Fuegoleon chimed in, "The passion in your eyes never ceases to amaze me." [Y/n] could see Nozel shoot the redhead a glare. The two first sons of the most noble families were her two of her many suitors.

[Y/n] smiled, politely. "I entrust that your decisions today are correct. Please choose the finest." She curtsied.

[Y/n] took a deep breath after taking her leave. After walking through the corridor and a little way down the stone hall, her majesty curled herself in the corner fuming with embarrassment. "I cannot believe I choose to do this every year. How embarrassing! I swear I sound like such an overbearing queen! Like I am their boss! Or their god!" She covered her face, "I need to bury this embarrassment deep inside my mind and never think about it until next year. It's unbecoming of a queen to be wallowing in self-pity. Calm down, [Y/n]. Perish the thought..."

"Your Majesty? You're curled up in the corner again. I take it your speech went well."

[Y/n]'s eyes shot opened, and she slowly turned her head to see Julius smiling down at her. The queen's face reddened even more. 'Julius?! OF ALL people to catch me wallowing, it has to be Julius!'

Julius smiled warmly at her and held his hand. [Y/n] cleared her throat, "Good day to you as well, Sir Julius." She placed her smaller hand on top of his. The Wizard King help the queen to her feet. "You seem to always appear at the strangest times, but yes, my speech was received well. Every year, we seem to have more and more examinees. I want all of them to be well aware of what they will be fighting for."
