The next day I wake up only to find I have 3 minutes to get ready and go to class.
"IVY! WAKE UP! WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE!"
"What?" She says sleepily. She suddenly snaps into full consciousness.
"Oh no! We must have stayed up too late last night."
"Mr. Edge is going to kill us!" I yell running around the room and getting ready. I throw on my clothes and grab my bag. I look and see Ivy is just as ready as me.
"Wait. You still need to brush your hair." Ivy tells me. I grab a brush and brush my hair as we are running to class. When we get there I put my brush in my bag. We are late.
"Welcome. Now sit down and work!" Mr. Edge yells at us. I sit down and pullout my textbook on the water gift. I take notes but stop when I see a paper sticking out of my notebook. A page that looks different from the rest. I pull it out and see it wasn't even attached to the book. I observe it and see it is some sort of parchment with gold embedded into the edges as a border. I touch it but water starts flowing out of my hand. I'm going to ruin it! I stop the water but when I look at the paper there is writing.
The water gift is in your possession.
The project you have is long forgotten.
To stop the floods we have told you about.
You have never seen them until now-
"Flood warning everyone needs to get to a shelter!" The intercom orders.
I grab my stuff and follow our class to a flood shelter. As I am walking past the window I see it is raining hard and it doesn't look like it's going to stop soon.
I look at my classmates expressions. I have never been in a flood so I don't know what to expect. They all look panicked but Cole looks utterly horrified. Fire and water don't mix well.
