Chapter 8: The beach

   Grandma is getting sick and that worries me. I really hope she feels better. I woke up and walked into the kitchen Caroline had indeed fallen asleep with Jc and kissed him and she is very happy with herself.
"Mornin." she says with a huge smile.
"Mornin." I say.
"You want to go out tonight?' she asks.
"I can't."
"why, what are you doing?"
"date." I say.
"who is it this time? All of them? "
"Ricky." I say. she groans.
"why do they like you so much?" I laughed.
"Jc likes you." i point out. she smiles.
"yeah, Jc likes me."
"But you can come to the bonfire tonight." I say.
"That sounds fun."
"Yeah." I say. I horn honks.
"I got to go, see you at work." I grab a donut.
"Who's that?"
"Bye." I leave. I walk down the steps to Connor's car.
"Hey." I say as we get in. I hand him a donut.
"Thank you." He says. I nod.
"We need to pick up lady." I say. He nods. It was silent then he spoke.
"I didn't like how Sam was dancing with you at Trevor's party." He says.
"Ok, that's not your business." I say. He grips the wheel.
"Willa, I wouldn't have said anything if I didn't care."
"I know you care but you don't have to be protective."
"But I don't want him doing that."
"Take it up with him."
"Willa!"
"Can we just drop the subject? Gosh!" He didn't say anything. We arrived at grandmas and I got out and ran to the front door. I let myself in.
"Lady? Grandma?" Lady walked down the stairs.
"Hey little bug." I rub her head.
"I'm ready." She says.
"Ok go to the car, Connor is there."
"Yea! Connor!" She ran out. I walked upstairs to grandma's room. I opened the door.
"Hey grandma." I sat by her feet.
"Hi darling." He was writing things down.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"My will." She says.
"Grandma!" I say. She laughs.
"It's coming baby. It's coming." She jots stuff down then tears a paper off.
"When I go, I want you to contact Sandy and Kevin." She hands me the paper.
"Aunt sandy and uncle Kevin live in Dubai." I say. She nods.
"Willa you can barley sustained yourself, when I go I don't want lady to hold you back from growing up."
"That won't happen."
"Baby it will, I haven't talked to them but I will because I'm giving guardianship of lady to them."
"You can't send lady to Dubai with our aunt and uncle that be barley know!" I snapped. She took my hand.
"She's not going away forever."
"She is my sister, she will be all I have."
"I promise everything will work itself out." The horn honked.
"I got to go, but this conversation is not over." I say. She nods and I walked to the car.
"You ok?" Connor placed a hand in my shoulder.
"Yeah I'm fine." I say.
"Are we going to school?" Lady asks.
"No. We are going to Shay's." I say. She cheered.
"Why not school?" Connor asked.
"It's Columbus Day." I say.
"Ah." He turns into their neighborhood.
"Lady, until grandma feels better, you are going to be staying with uncle Shay and aunt Colette." I say.
"Thank you thank you!" She says. I smile. I walk lady up to their door and she walks in. I walk back to the car.
"Ok why were you crying?" He asks. I clicked my seatbelt.
"I told you I'm fine."
"The word fine is a lie Willa."
"I don't really want to talk about it with you."
"You want to go talk to Ricky about it? Or Sam?"
"I'll walk to work thank you." I clicked my seatbelt and he pushed it back in.
"Im sorry." He says.
"My grandma wants to send lady to Dubai with my aunt and uncle." I finally say. I wiped a tear that dropped down my cheek.
"She can't do that."
"Yes she can and she will."
"Why?"
"It's in her will. Because she doesn't want to make me a parent to her."
"She has a point."
"We barley know them, Connor."
"She's doing what she thinks is best for you two. You guys have been through so much. The last thing she wants to do is hurt you."
"I know, she's just all I've got wen grandma goes."
"You don't have any other family?"
"My mom was pregnant with our brother in the accident." I say. He pulls my head in his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Willa, I didn't know."

"Ready to party?" I asked Caroline at her desk.
"I still have some paper work." She says. I sit on her desk.
"Your off the clock."
"So?" She flips some papers.
"Jc will be there." She looks up.
"5 more minutes." She says. I laugh.
"That's my girl." I walked out.i saw Colette eating a donut.
"Hey." I say.
"Hey." The kids were with Shay today.
"Ok wen are you due?" I ask. She giggles.
"2 weeks! Can you believe it?" She asks.
"His name is going to be Daxton?" I ask. She nods.
"Uhh huh."
"That's precious." I say.
"Thank you."
"Colette." A lady with paints call her over.
"I'll talk to you later, feel free to drop by whenever."
"Let me know if you need anything." I say.
"Will do, thank you." She says. I smile and meet Caroline in her car.

  We drive to the beach where they guys were on the sandy shore. I walked down in the warm sand with the California sun set in the horizon. It was absolutely stunning.
"Willa!" Sam calls. I wave.
"Caroline!" Jc says. We walk down to where they are.
"Hey." We say. We lay out our towels. Caroline and I soak out feel in the cool water.
"Let's bury kian." Jc says.
"Jc!!!" Kian yells.
"I'm going to dig your grave." Trevor says. We laugh.
"Shall I make the head stone?" I ask.
"You said bury not kill!" Kian says.
"Same thing." Caroline says. We dug a deep hole and kian stepped in. We covered him with sand to his head.
"This is not funny." Kian says. We are laughing so hard. We take pictures. We start the bonfire and sit down. Jc plays his guitar. Ricky sings. It was so nice.

  It was late and we were wasted. Ricky and I walked to Caroline and i's apartment. They guys and Caroline took a über to the o2l house.
"I'm so tired." I say as I open the door.
"We are going to have raging headaches in the morning." He says. I laugh.
"Your funny." I touch his nose. He laugh.
"Yeah?" He says. I was so drunk I didn't see why this was a problem but he kissed me...
