Chapter 17: paternity

I don't know what has come over me but I have a feeling it's Kian's. And I know it will break sam's heart if it is. Paternity. That thought hasn't left my mind. Notice how in that word ernity sounds like eternity. That scares the life out of me.

  I'm 10 weeks today. Caroline hasn't left me alone and Ive been faking my period. Sam swore on his life he wouldn't tell anyone. I'm in the shower. Very nice shower may I add when someone walks in.
"So, have any cravings lately?"
"Caroline!" I moan.
"Just some shower talk."
"I don't know like....strawberry ice cream." I say.
"You hate strawberry ice cream."
"No I don't."
"Yeah you do!"
"Get out of my bathroom." I laughed.
"Not until you tell me."
"How about you say what's on your mind."
"Ok #1 couple weeks ago when you came home from a unknown place you were sad or devastated. When Kian came over and you were happy. #2 your faking your period. #3 abnormal mood swing. #4 the puking. #5 abnormal food cravings. #5 your google search history."
"Caroline!"
"Why did you keep it from me? I'm your best friend. Shouldn't you tell me this stuff?" I looked at my feet.
"You don't understand how hard this is. I'm not ready to be a mom. I'm 23! My life is ahead of me! And..."
"And what?" She asked.
"I don't know the father." I finally said.
"Will."
"It could be Kian or it could be Sam."
"Your cheating with Sam?"
"Sam and I aren't officially dating."
"Honey! Have you not seen the light that get gets just from looking at you? He lights up when he sees you. Every time he looks at you he looks like he's going to propose!"
"We're not public, And what about Kian?"
"I just don't know about him. I like him he's a great guy but Willa you deserve better. Some days I could kiss Kian all day. Others I want to make out with Sam under the stars.

I couldn't sleep because of the paternity test tomorrow in the morning so I called Connor. He walked in and embraced me. A tear fell down his back.
"You know that is don't mean what I said that night you were here right?"
"Your angry I was confused. We put that behind us a while ago." He said.
"And hey, every girl need a gay friend." I smiled.
"Good thing I have you."

We sat on the couch. My legs wrapped around his.
"I'm a ruby." He randomly said.
"What?" I turned to look at him.
"She spoke too soon. But I wanted you to know. It seams to be the the main subject at the o2l household."
"So Kian knows Sam is a ruby?"
"Everyone knew." I laid my head back on his chest.
"Has Kian said anything about me?"
"To be honest I shouldn't talk about what we talk about."
"Right, bro code."
"How's Willa?" He asked.
"Awful, depressed, I've got anxiety."
"What? why?" I started to cry.
"Because. I'm pregnant." His expression changed and I saw his eyes say the words I'm sorry.
"So it's Sams?"
"That's the big question."
"What? Willa, why don't you know?"
"I wish I could say it was sam's but I honestly have no idea."
"When can you get a paternity test?"
"I have one for tomorrow morning."
"Do you want me to go?"
"No Caroline is going with me."
"You know things happen for a reason."
"We used protection!"
"I didn't need to know that!"
"Right. This is not the burden I need in my life right now."
"Hey, it's not a burden, that's a baby you talking about." I stood up and walked to my purse I pulled out some pictures and sat back down.
"That's them." He smiled.
"I hope it boy."
"I don't care."
"I'll be a great uncle."
"Everyone needs a gay uncle!" We say I unison. We laughed.
"Shut up!" Jc yelled. Which made us laugh more.
"Well shit it's 3 am." Connor laughed.
"Whoops." I say.
"You go home." I pat his chest.
"No you need me tonight."
"Your still freshly-"
"Freshly gay? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard." He pulled my into his chest. We laughed.
"And your already knocked up."
"Connor!" I hit his chest.
"I'm just kidding." He smiles. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

"Isn't he precious?" Logan said over my shoulder.
"Yeah." I say. He took her.
"Say goodbye." He said.
"What? Logan give him back."
"Bye bye." Logan waved.
"Logan!"
"Morgan and I are great parents for you." He said walking off.
"Logan!" I yelled again. I woke up gasping for air.
"Hey hey it's ok. It's ok." Conner calmed him.
"He took him from me." I cried.
"Who? What are you talking about?" He put a hand in my forehead.
"Logan took him!" I said again.
"Shh shh." He held my head.
"He took him."
"Who took who?"
"Logan took my baby!"
"It was just a bad dream." I wrapped my hands around my stomach.
"It wasn't real, Willa."
"It wasn't real."

"Look I know you had a rough morning but we need to do that test." Caroline said.
"Sam doesn't even know."
"Ok your 9 weeks, right?"
"Yeah."
"Who did you sleep with 9 weeks ago?"
"What day was that?" I ask
"The week before thanksgiving." She says.
"Ugh!"
"What?"
"I slept with both of them that night."
"Damn it Willa."
"I think it's Sam's can we just go with that?"
"No Willa, you need to know for sure."

  So we got our butts to the doctors office.
"Ms.Carson." A nurse said. We got up and walked in.
"Doctor will be with you shortly." She said. My legs dangled over the bed.
"You are going to need to get Sam and Kian's Dna." Caroline said.
"I have one of Kian's hairs. Just process of elimination." Caroline sighed. The doctor came in.
"Ms.Carson." He said.
"Yes." I smiled.
"I see your having a paternity test."
"Yes."
"You said you were in contact with the father at our last visit."
"Fathers."
"I mean this in a doctors perspective: do you need therapy or anything? A support group?"
"No! No no no, just a mix up." I say.
"Ok well you so have one of the possible fathers dna."
"Yes." I pulled a plastic bag out of my purse and gave it to her.
"Ok we are going to do the procedure." She put some gloves on.
"Oh i get it. You had me." He says looking at Caroline.
"Ok no! She just a friend."
"Just a friend." Caroline added.
"Oh sorry."

"Alright, the test should come back in a few weeks give or take."
"Thank you." I said.
"Your welcome." She disposed of her gloves and left the room.
"10 weeks ago you were lively, you at you know, sitting in a gynecologist office....pregnant with a YouTubers baby."
