Chapter 14: Thanksgiving

Sam and I are kinda a thing. Kian doesn't like it but he can suck it. Ricky doesn't care anymore and Connor...I need to talk to him. Kevin and Sandy are still here. Lady becomes theirs tomorrow. I tried, I really did. But I can't sustain lady and myself. It's thanksgiving and the Butlers invited me to theirs but Sandy and I have already started on ours. There was a few conditions with them taking lady. Every holiday they visit and she gets to see me on here birthday and mom, dad, the baby's, and grandmas death anniversary every year. We are having the thanksgiving at the o2l house because it has a bigger kitchen. We are bringing some of the food over now. I walked in. No one was awake.
"Just set it on the counter." I say. Sandy puts some food on the counter with foil wrapped over it.
"I'll go get the car and bring over the other food." She said.
"Ok." I smiled. She left. You would think that I would go to sam's room. But I didn't. I walked in and closed the door. I sat down on his bed and looked at him.
"Willa?" Connor said.
"Can we talk?"
"Why are you here so early?"
"Bringing food over."
"Oh." He sat up rubbing his eyes.
"In sorry I went off on you like that."
"No Willa, I should have told you before anything."
"Connor I snapped at you-"
"It's fine."
"We cool?"
"Yeah, we're cool." We hugged.
"Connor-" Sam walked in.
"Really Willa? You have got to be fucking kidding me!"
"Sam!" This was getting annoying.
"Connor tell him!" I shouted.
"Tell me what?!"
"Sam close the door." Connor said.
"Why is Willa in here laying on your bed!!?" Sam yelled.
"Shhh." I said.
"This wasn't easy for me or for Willa but Sam, I'm gay." Connor said.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"I was mad at him or a while until now, that's why I came in here, to talk."
"I'm sorry I snapped at you guys." Sam said.
"Even if I wasn't, I would never touch your girl, you know that."
"Yeah, I'm sorry man."
"CAN I GET SOME HELP UNLOADING PLEASE!!?" Sandy yelled. We walked downstairs.
"Thank you." She said.
"Your welcome." Sam said. Sandy eyeballed me.
"What?" I asked.
"He's got the hots for you." She says. I laughed.
"I've figured that out." She smiled.
"Are Jc and Caroline coming over?" Trevor asked.
"Think so, I left early this morning." I say. I eat a cranberry.
"How can you eat those?" Connor asks.
"What do you mean?" I eat another.
"They're so sour." Sam says. I laugh.
"I love em." I say. I eat another. Ricky walks out.
"How can I help?" He asked.

  "Here." I handed Kevin the turkey and he put it on the table.
"Can we eat now?!" Lady nagged.
"Yes." I say.
"Yea!" She cheered we all sat down.
"Let's raise our glasses." Sandy says.
"And juice boxes." Lady added.
"And juice boxes." Sandy laughed.
"To grandma."
"I love you." Caroline side hugged me.
"Love you too."

We are in the backyard dancing. Music is on and we are just dancing away. I laughed as Trevor twirled lady. She smiled. Sam spun me. Sandy and Kevin danced too. I walked inside and started clearing the table. Kian helped. I moved the dishes to the sink and began cleaning them. Kian's hands sat on my waist. I didn't know If I should move them or let them be. He placed his chin on my shoulder. I turned around. He was about to lift me in the counter.
"Willa." Sam said before walking inside. Immediately kian let go and I started back on the dishes.
"Yeah?"
"Need any help?"
"Kian is helping."
"K." He kissed my head then ran upstairs. Kian walked back over.
"You can't possibly love him."
"You don't know my feelings, ok?"
"Willa it's ridiculous."
"And why is that?"
"He's just gonna hurt you."
"Your a ruby, I get it, but you don't need to sleep with me to figure this out."
"That's not what I was implying." I gave him a glare.
"Ok a little."
"Please just let me do this on my own."
"I'm sorry." He softly said. I sighed. Trevor walked in.
"She is wearing me out!" He fills a glass of water.
"She does that." He laughs.
"You gonna go to the Butlers?" He asked.
"I don't know."
"Shoot with me later?" Kian asked.
"Yeah." I dried a dish and he took it.
"Why is everything so serious with Willa around? We used to have fun!" Trevor says.
"Because of the ruby's." I said before walking outside.
"Ruby's?" Trevor said.
"Willa will you dance with me?" Lady said.
"Yeah."
"Did you clean up?" Ricky asked.
"Little bit."
"Don't worry about it we got it." Kevin said.
"You made the food we can clean up." Jc said.
"But-"
"We got it." Ricky said.
"Thank you boys." Sandy said.
"Your welcome." I put lady on my hip and danced with her.
"Your gonna be a good mom." She said. That made me wanna cry.
"Maybe later." She laid her head on my shoulder.

  I walked with everyone down the cobblestone path. Today has been a roller coaster. Lady sat some flowers by the headstone.
"Happy thanksgiving, grandma." I said. I traced my finger over her name that was engraved: Mellie Rose Carson.
"No tears?" Sam said. I smiled.
"Not today."
