Chapter 12: Revenge

I couldn't sleep and it was 3:34 am. I pulled out my phone.
Me: I can't sleep
Connor: you want me to come over?
Me: yeah
Minutes later there was a slight knock at the door. Lady was staying at the Butlers. I opened the door. He hugged me. My tears streamed down his shoulder.
"You know I am here for you, through it all."
"Of course." I said without hesitation.
"Willa, I'm always there. Your never alone through this. Lady can come to anyone of us as well. Don't be afraid to ask for a hug or a shoulder."

  I woke up in Connors arms not even 2 hours later. I couldn't sleep. Nothing could make me sleep. He was awake too.
"Go back to sleep." He brushed a piece of hair out of my face.
"I can't." I fixed the collar of his shirt.
"Well if your awake can I talk to you about something?"
"Yeah." I said softly.
"I'm been having weird feelings and I've been seeing a therapist."
"Ok?"
"I think I'm gay." He said. My eyes went wide.
"You what?"
"I'm gay Willa."
"But I kissed you.." I say.
"Yeah..."
"We...." I looked around. "We had sex Connor." I said.
"I will always be there for you but not in a boyfriend way."
"Connor this changes everything."
"Please don't be mad."
"Oh but I am." I stand up.
"Willa."
"No Connor, you should have told me."
"I did-"
"Was I "this will confirm that I'm gay, sex?""
"No!"
"Get out." I said. He didn't move.
"Get out!" I said again.
"I'm not leaving."
"Then Jc will make you." I say.
"Fine." He held up his hands in surrender. I locked the door and slid down it in tears.

  I walked down the cobblestone pavement. I walked to a small headstone. I knelt down and put some flowers on the grave.
"Grandma I was wrong." I brushed the stone with my fingers.
"Connors not for me." I sat in the grass.
"He's gay grandma! I found out this morning. I made everything worse. But I can't take back those words, because they were real."
"I miss you."

  I drove to shay's. I opened the door.
"Willa!!!" Lady jumped in my arms.
"Ready?" I asked.
"Not really."
"I promised grandma."
"I know." She said.
"Come for dinner." Colette said.
"You have Daxton, and your moving-"
"Come for dinner." She said. I smiled.
"Are you sure? With Kevin and sandy?"
"Please, we love company."
"Thank you for watching her." I said.
"Absolutely any time."

We arrived at the airport.
"Do you even know what they look like?" Lady asked.
"Yeah, Kevin has...brown hair and sandy has brown hair."
"Sandy has blonde hair."
"Same thing."
"Not really." I reached behind me and tickled her.
"There they are." Lady points to a couple waving. I waved. I got out and helped them put their things in the back.
"How long has it been!?" Sandy asked.
"8 years I think."
"Is this the famous Lady Rose?" Kevin asked.
"Yes. My lady bug."
"It is so good to see you two!" Sandy said.
"It's really good seeing you too." I say. I smiled.

At grandmas house we sat at the table. Kevin read over her will.
"So who gets the house?" Kevin asked. I pointed to a paragraph on the paper.
"It's between you and me?" He asked.
"Kevin-" Sandy started.
"Sandy we will discuss this later, let's enjoy our visit." She smiled and nodded.
"How was the funeral?" Sandy asked.
"It was hard."
"I'm sorry Willa."

I got them situated in the house. We had it for another month, we will have to put t on the market. In the will she gave me the house technology, but I just can't afford it, I mean if o2l lives in this neighborhood....
"Can we see Connor?" Lady asked. We were getting the mail.
"Maybe another day." I said.
"But he lives just around the corner Willa!"
"Lady, I don't want to see him."
"What happened."
"It's grownup stuff."
"Ever since you became friends you're so secretive! I wish grandma was still here to love me!" She snapped and ran upstairs.
"Lady!" I yelled.
"Should I..." Sandy said.
"No." I ran upstairs.
"Lady open the door."
"Go away!"
"Lady bug."
"I don't want to talk to you! I want to go with Sandy and Kevin! They love me!"
"Lady Rose Carson! I love you more than anything!"
"No you don't, you wouldn't have moved out and married your work! You love Connor more than me!"
"Lady I had to grow up. And Connor doesn't have my heart, you do."
"Leave me alone!" I slightly opened the door. She buried her face in her pillow.
"There is no way in This world I could ever stop loving you. You are my sister, we have been through so much together and we have to stick together. Nothing can tear our bond apart. You are my sister and I love you."
"Willa I miss Grammy."
"I know you do. I do too."

We sat down at colettes table.
"Thank you for dinner." Sandy said as Gavin cleared her Plate.
"Where do you live again?" Colettes asked.
"Dubai, i teach pilots how to fly a tiltrotor." Kevin said.
"What's that?" Brock asked.
"It's a helicopter with two propellers." He says. He shows him a picture.
"That's so cool." Gavin says.
"You in the army?" Shay asked.
"Veteran." He said.
"How come I never knew this?" I said.
"Your parents were independent, they kept to themselves." Sandy said.
"That's too bad." Lady said.
"Thank you for dinner, again." Sandy said.
"Your very welcome." Shay replied.

  I knocked on the o2l door. Sam answered.
"Can I talk to you?" I asked.
"Yeah." I eyeballed Connor as I walked up the stairs.
"He's going to bed, don't worry about him." Sam said. I nodded. I sat down in his bed.
"I heard you haven't been sleeping." He said.
"That's not why I'm here." I said. He sat down.
"Then what do you need to talk about?" I stood up.
"I just have some questions..." I sat in his lap.
"Like what?" He smiled.
"Can you keep a secret?" I asked. He laughed then kissed me.
"Yes, yes I can."
